A prequel to ‘Yellowstone’ is reportedly under production and will center on the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States and focus on how shifting alliances, unsolved murders and open wounds result in constant conflict at the ranch. With an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and vicious business rivalries, the Dutton family must beat all odds. ‘Yellowstone’ premiered in 2018 and ran for 5 seasons with actors Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser and more in the cast. Season 5 Part 2 of ‘Yellowstone’ will premiere in 2024 which will mark the end of the popular series. The upcoming series is predicted to premiere on Paramount+ and is currently in its developmental stage.
The ‘Yellowstone’ prequel spinoff is reportedly being taken up under King Street Productions. King Street Productions is an established production company whose works include, ‘Worth the Wait’ which starred Karena Lam, Osric Chau, Ali Fumiko Whitney and Ricky He, ‘Heavenquest : A Pilgrim’s Progress’ which premiered in 2020 as an action film directed by Matt Bilen, ‘Love and Busking’ which was produced by Sejin Park, and more.

MTV Entertainment Studios, Linson Entertainment, Bosque Ranch Productions and 101 Studios will be joining the Yellowstone prequel spinoff with producers John Linson, Art Linson, Kevin Costner, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, Stephen Kay and Christina Voros will be heading the crew. John Linson and Art Linson are founders of Linson Entertainment and their productions include, ‘The Wild Life’ which premiered in 1984, ‘The Comedian’ which was directed by Taylor Hackford’, ‘The Outsider’ which premiered in 2018 starring Jared Leto, and more. Kevin Costner, a known actor/ producer who played the role of John Dutton in ‘Yellowstone’ will be joining the production crew. Other popular works of the actor include, ‘Dances with Wolves’ which premiered in 1990, ‘Hidden Figures’which is directed by Theodore Melfi and more. David C. Glasser is the CEO of 101 Studios. His works include, ‘Agent Cody Banks 2’ 2004, ‘Assassination of a High School President’ a comedy directed Brett Simon and ‘Burnt’ starring Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller, to name a few. Bob Yari is a member of the Yari Film Group and his works include, ‘Crash’ which premiered in 2004 and ‘House of D’ which was directed by David Duchovny. Stephen Kay is known for ‘Blue-Eyed Butcher’ and ‘The Mod Squad’ to name a few. Christina Voros is known for ‘The Director: An Evolution in Three Acts’ and ‘Anesthesia’ among others.
Taylor Sheridan will be reprising his role as the show runner for the prequel series to Yellowstone. Other additions to the crew include, John Papsidera and more.
