What can we expect from the Plot of Daddy’s Home 3
Sean Anders, the director of the first two films revealed during his interview with CinemaBlend, “I think it’d be kind of funny if we did kind of what they did with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, how they got back together later in life,” Anders explained. “I think it’d be funny if when Mark [Wahlberg] and Will [Ferrell] are old men that we get back together and do Scarlet’s wedding. I think that’d be fun to see with those guys.”
Nonetheless, we’re not 100% sure if the third movie of Daddy’s Home will be produced because it has been a little over five years since the last movie arrived in the theaters. But Mark Wahlberg seems interested in working on a new movie.
“If [Sean] and Will were in, yeah. I would sign on if those guys were in.”
This sure is enough to convince us into thinking that a threequel will happen at some point but we’ll have to wait patiently for it.

Daddy’s Home age rating/Parent’s guide
Daddy’s Home is a family-friendly film. But it has some obscenities, a few crass jokes, and so on. This movie isn’t recommended for elementary-aged children.
Daddy’s Home 3: Can we get to see it?
(updated 7/9/2023)
As of April 2023, there has not been a single word from the filmmakers or the cast members. Moreover, it has already been six years since the sequel came out. If the makers wanted to do another movie of Daddy’s Home, they would have done so but we haven’t got anything so far. Therefore, the prospect of the film returning with a third part of Daddy’s Home is slim or it might never happen. However, let’s still wait for official updates.
Is Daddy’s Home a kid-friendly movie?
Well, nah – it isn’t. If there had been fewer crude jokes and profanities, Daddy’s Home might have easily been a family-friendly movie, but as it stands, even though it stars elementary-aged kids, it’s obviously not for them. There is a lot of profanity (including “s–t” and other words).
Daddy’s Home Review — Pretty Funny But Formulaic
I must admit that Will Ferrell kind of mystifies me most of the time; I fail to understand what makes him so well-liked by the general populace. However, I must admit that he toned it down in “Daddy’s Home” and isn’t as shrill as he is in prior movies. He actually does turn out to be charming and likeable, and when teamed with Mark Wahlberg (another actor who typically doesn’t impress me), some real chemistry is created.
Additionally, the raunch element, typically prominent in the other film starring the two actors, is judiciously toned down by director Sean Anders; in its place, there is a pleasant, easy-going vibe that occasionally tickles your funny bone. In the end, though, there aren’t nearly enough laughs for me to recommend it. The movie follows a formula, as I mentioned in my synopsis line, and throughout you can pretty much guess what will happen before it actually does.
It becomes exceedingly difficult for the film to pull the rug out from under the audience and get chuckles since there are no surprises. I’ll concede there are plenty of comedies that are much worse than this one, but ultimately it’s just a movie to watch when something else at home needs your whole focus.
