Jujutsu Kaisen is deemed one of the best anime of 2021 consisting of 24 episodes that aired from October 3, 2020, to March 27, 2021. It was crazy popular when Jujutsu Kaisen was launched, I’m positive that almost everyone has heard of this anime, and over time, it appears that the fandom is only getting larger and these fans have been earnestly looking forward to it the next season. So are we getting a second season of JJK anytime soon? Let’s find out below.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Release Date: When Is It?
JJK was renewed for a second season. One fan asked if season 2 was in development to series creator and author Gege Akutami, to which he responded: “They are doing a season 2 for the anime TV series ~ ~! Thank you very much for everything !!! To all readers, viewers and people involved !!!”
In January 2022, MBS president, Yoichi Mushiaki shared that the prospect of the anime series is certain but fans will have to wait a while for season 2.
Anime News Network revealed that he said, “At this time I’d like you all to wait for us to state a concrete plan. However, I think we can provide a development that will meet expectations.”
Few weeks after Mushiaki made that statement, it was officially announced through Crunchyroll that the second season of JJK will be released in 2023 although an exact release date wasn’t provided.
JJK fans who have seen the recently launched movie titled “Jujutsu Kaisen 0” are craving more new episodes of the anime series, so expect new updates to be dropped in the coming weeks.
The Cast of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Who’s in it?
Not sure if all the characters will return in the second season but we do know that the central characters are reprising their roles for a more action-filled season as they step into a new chapter.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: The Plot
The second season will start from Volume 8 of the manga series and end on Volume 16. The first season covered Volume 1 to 7, while the movie “Jujutsu Kaisen 0” was based on a prequel manga Volume 0.
Season 2 will adapt the Shibuya Incident and story arc which revolves around the group of sorcerers, headed by Yuji, as they engage in a massive battle orchestrated by powerful curses to eliminate those who are against them. This arc will be a lot darker than the first season and will be filled with never-ending battles. Also, expect to see some major deaths that happen in this arc.
Where to Watch Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2?
JJK season 2 will be released on Crunchyroll but currently, the official release date is not out yet. It’s expected that it will arrive in the winter of 2023.
