The victory came for Seehorn’s lead performance in Apple TV’s Pluribus, the surreal drama created by Vince Gilligan. The award gives the actor a long-awaited breakthrough after Emmy recognition repeatedly stopped at nominations — a particularly notable result for a performer whose work as Kim Wexler became one of Better Call Saul’s central achievements.
Seehorn’s path to the stage stretched across two different Gilligan series. She played Kim from 2015 through the show’s 2022 finale, earning Emmy nominations for the role, then reunited with Gilligan for Pluribus, where she plays Carol Sturka, a novelist navigating a world transformed by a mysterious global event.
Pluribus entered the 2026 ceremony as one of the year’s strongest contenders. The first-season drama received 18 Emmy nominations, the most ever for a first-year drama, according to the Los Angeles Times. Seehorn’s nomination was also her first in the lead actress category.
