Slipknot spent nearly three decades playing rooms with low ceilings and high humidity. In July 2027, the band gets a former airport runway.
Live Nation Ontario confirmed the Toronto stop on the (sic)est Stadium Tour: Rogers Stadium, July 23, 2027, with Bring Me The Horizon and Kublai Khan TX opening. Tickets go on sale Friday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. local time.
The date is not an outlier. Kerrang! reported the run is Slipknot’s first-ever stadium tour, spanning the U.K., North and South America, with stops at Wembley Stadium in London, SoFi Stadium outside Los Angeles, Chicago’s Soldier Field and Fenway Park in Boston among venues that spent the last days of September posting a flaming tribal S and the numbers 09.28.
A 2027 run would be Slipknot’s first large-scale tour since the 2024 dates marking 25 years of their self-titled debut, per reporting around the announcement. Toronto has historically been one of the strongest markets for the masked nine-piece, whose last stadium-scale local appearance came during the festival era rather than a headline booking of this size.
Rogers Stadium itself is barely older than the tour. It opened on June 29, 2025 with a Stray Kids concert — a 50,000-capacity seasonal venue built on 44 acres of the former Downsview Airport lands, owned and operated by Live Nation and scheduled to come down around 2030. It is the largest purpose-built music venue in the Greater Toronto Area and second in the city only to the Rogers Centre. Coldplay’s Chris Martin, playing four nights there in 2025, called it “a weird stadium in the middle of nowhere.”
The site has had a bruising stretch. Severe thunderstorms in early September collapsed seating and part of the grandstands at the open-air venue, and AC/DC’s Sept. 16 date there was scrapped.
For a band that has spent its career squeezing chaos into whatever room it was handed, a treeless field on the edge of the city may be the last available upgrade — one of the few summers left before the seats come out for good.
