‘Hush, Hush’, the popular YA book franchise is reportedly receiving a film adaptation and there are a lot of speculation on who will be donning the fan favorite characters, from the book series. Well, rumors seem to indicate that Shay Mitchell and Wolfgang Novogratz are the latest additions to the film, said to play pivotal characters. Many know Shay Mitchell from her role as Emily Fields from the popular drama series ‘Pretty Little Liars’. Being a known actress, Shay Mitchell’s other on-screen performances include Peach Salinger in ‘You’ a thriller series, Stella Cole in ‘Dollface’ which ran for 2 seasons and Vanessa in ‘Something from Tiffany’s’ which premiered in 2022. Wolfgang Novogratz is an emerging actor whose recent on-screen appearances include Trig Carson in ‘The Half of It’ which premiered in 2020 and ‘Feel the Beat’ a dance themed dramedy, to name a few.
The crew members for the upcoming feature film include Matthew Hastings, Monet Clayton, Becca Fitzpatrick and Lynn Renee Maxcy. Matthew Hastings a known director/ producer will be taking up the direction for the upcoming project while Monet Clayton, Becca Fitzpatrick and Lynn Renee Maxcy will potentially be the writers for ‘Hush, Hush’. Matthew Hastings is primarily known for his YA themed TV series such as ‘The Originals’ which is a spin-off series to ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and ‘Shadowhunters’ another book franchise adaptation. Hence, his addition to the crew for the upcoming project is an exciting news for all the fans of the popular book series.
Becca Fitzpatrick’s ‘Hush Hush’ Series
The ‘Hush, Hush’ series which comprises a total of four books is a paranormal themed YA book series which follows a teenager who encounters a mysterious young man only to later find out that he is a fallen angel. The romance themed series was among the most sought out ones in early 2010s following the publication of the first book titled ‘Hush Hush’ in 2009. The upcoming film adaptation will most likely follow the first book in the series with Shay Mitchell and Wolfgang Novogratz possibly taking up primary characters. Currently, the project is in its pre- production stage and is predicted to commence its filming soon.
