The ladies are coming back for more! Are you ready for more musical adventures? Good news for the fans as they won’t have to wait that long for season 2 of Girls5eva to arrive on the screens.
The renewal announcement came from Lisa Katz, president/Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Television stated in a press release confirming the musical drama series second installment.
“We are so excited to continue Girls5eva alongside this incredibly talented group of cast and producers, it was hard to miss the immediate fandom that was born after the launch of this series. This aspirational comeback story is filled with heart and friendship, perfectly blended with catchy-songs and humor, and delivered by an exceptionally versatile cast. We look forward to following this group’s journey as they continue to hit just the right notes.”

Season 2 of Girls5eva is finally premiering on May 5, 2022!
What to Expect in Season 2 of Girls5eva?
In a recent interview with Parade.com, Busy Philips who also stars in the show disclosed,
“The ladies, when we left them they like had stormed the stage at Jingle Ball, so there’s definitely like the aftermath of that, and more songs and more hijinks.” Also, it seems like we’ll be seeing more new costumes for the ladies of Girls5eva! “I have to say that the wardrobe, the costumes this year that the girls get into are just off the charts. Like there’s some wild things happening,” Philipps explained.
Showrunner and executive producer Meredith Scardino, also hinted that the second season will see the ladies “enter ‘Album Mode’” as they will finally make “their first studio album on their own terms.”
Speaking to TVLine, Scardino revealed that she didn’t prefer the girl band to “become hugely famous,” she explains, “They say they want to be famous and all that s**t, but it’s not really about fame. It’s about fulfillment and trying to build something together and the way they’re kind of activating each other’s lives. They were all, in their own way, kind of frozen in amber after the band went away and they all had to pick up the pieces of their lives. I just like underdogs, so I didn’t want them to become hugely famous. I also didn’t think that was realistic, that they would become hugely famous, these four women without a lot of representation and a lot of resources. So in Season 2, I would like to retain some of that scrappy ‘us trying to go up against this big, giant machine as underdogs’ [energy].”
