Code Geass Season 3: Release Date, Cast & Plot
Code Geass is a mech anime series first aired in 2006. Set in a parallel universe, the anime series has become one of the popular series of the 2000s. It follows the story of an exiled prince, Lelouch vi Britannia, also known as Lelouch Lamperouge, who is a formal royalty of Britannia. His kingdom falls into a military coup despite opposing the rule for many years. An encounter with CC, a queer girl at Ashford Academy confers him with Geass or the Power of Kings, a power to command people to obey him. Lelouch puts his power to find his dead mother’s assassins besides upholding peace in his nation. He also becomes a vigilante. Overall the storyline is compelling and the characters are appealing.
In December 2020, Crunchyroll confirmed the franchise’s third chapter, and since then fans have been eagerly waiting for further news about it. Unfortunately, there is no word about the premiere date yet. But we are expecting that it will be announced soon. If you are as excited as us for Code Geass Season 3, here’s everything that you wouldn’t like to miss out on:
Code Geass Season 3: Release date
It’s been 15 years since this masterpiece was created and fans have been craving more new episodes although there is no word about when Code Geass: Z of the Recapture would be out, still our best guess is that the anime would drop on the streaming platforms by probably fall of 2022 or sometime in 2023. Hoping that the long hiatus is worth the wait. Stay tuned for more official information.
Code Geass Season 3: Cast details
We have no details about the cast currently. However, we see most, if not all, characters joining the cast of the anime series. To name a few, Lelouch, C.C., Suzaku Kururugi and Nunnally vi Britannia would be returning to their previous roles. We are also assuming that new characters will appear to take the story further.
Ichiro Okouchi would be replaced by Noboru Kimura as the screenwriter while Yoshimitsu Ohashi is designated as the new director. Sunrise Inc. will be the production house of the anime series, Code Geass: Z of the Recapture.
Code Geass Season 3: Plot
Code Geass’s third part would be a sequel of its 2019 film- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection. Though the plot details remain unknown currently. The series and movies both followed the theme of alternate universes. So, this is quite predictable that the upcoming season of the anime would be based on alternate timelines as well. Now, we are a bit unsure about the part of Lelouch in the television series, however, there is a possibility that the show would explore the characters’ background stories, how they became the people we know them, and more.
Code Geass is now streaming on several platforms including Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Funimation. For those who have plans to watch it for the first time, make sure to follow the below chronological order:
