Casper Van Dien has been officially cast in the upcoming horror thriller “His Frontier.”
Casper Van Dien Jr., 53,is an American actor. The actor is perhaps best recognized for his main role as Johnny Rico in the 1997 sci-fi action movie “Starship Troopers.” Van Dien Jr. has also been featured in a considerable digit of TV and movie roles, he is most often seen in day-time and primetime soap operas, and an enormous digit of television films, and direct-to-video movies such as the 2008 sequel “Starship Troopers 3: Marauder,” 2008 to the original movie.
Back in 2020, the actor signed on the cast of the independent movie “Daughter.” In 2022, Van Dien portrayed the role of Samual Hyst in the popular series “Salvage Marines,” where he also served as a producer, based on the Necrospace novel series; in one of his interviews, the actor appreciatively described in relation this role as that of Johnny Rico.
In the anticipated thriller horror Van Dien will play the role of Edward Grayson. Though his character details and how he will play out in the movie are not known as there is no concrete information about the film. Alongside Van Dien, other cast members include Karlee Leilani Perez in the role of Merin and Madeleine Kennedy in the character of Cordelia Grayson. It is expected that more cast members will be announced in the future and hopefully more details about the storyline of the film are also revealed.
Chris Sun will helm “His Frontier” and a script penned by Madeleine Kennedy while serving as producers for the upcoming movie are Kimberly Boyd alongside Kennedy and filmmaker Sun.
The story is set in 1867 in California and follows a homebody and his newly wedded wife who get entangled in a corrupt and ominous game when a bizarre Voodoo man resorts to settling in a residence beside them and a prostitute carrying a child lands on their doorstep.
Reportedly, the production for the film is currently underway and details are very much scant; it’s difficult to predict what the exact storyline would be except for the brief description mentioned above. The scheduled release date for “His Frontier” is slated sometime in 2023. There is no official release date as filming is yet to start but once filming takes place more updates will be provided by the crew and cast members. Until then stay positive and be patient.
