Jack Kays is heading for a room with a century of history and a ceiling low enough to touch. The Cincinnati songwriter will headline Toronto’s Opera House on March 13, 2027, Live Nation Ontario said, with tickets on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
The booking lands in the middle of Kays’ busiest touring stretch yet. He spent much of 2026 opening for Pierce the Veil on the band’s I Can’t Hear You world tour, playing arenas in Australia and Honolulu, while rolling out new singles including “To Be American” and “I’ve Got a Gun.”
The Opera House, at 735 Queen St. E., opened in 1909 as a vaudeville and movie theatre and has anchored Toronto’s east-end club circuit for decades. It holds roughly 700 people — a fraction of the rooms Kays has been filling as a support act, and a size that puts the night squarely on his own crowd.
That crowd has grown steadily since “Morbid Mind,” the introspective 2020 track that got him signed to Columbia Records and has since passed 48 million streams. His 2021 debut, “Mixed Emotions,” and the Travis Barker collaboration “My Favorite Nightmares” followed; 2023’s “Caffeine” delivered his first radio airplay and a Spotify “New Noise” artist-to-watch nod; and “DEADBEAT!,” his first full-length, arrived across two discs in 2024 and 2025. He has cleared 400 million streams worldwide.
His live reputation rests less on volume than on the hard material — addiction, grief, isolation. Kays told Loudwire that writing about those subjects takes distance. “To properly write about something that is really hard,” he said, “you have to have kind of dealt with it if you want to write about it in a way that is mature and feels timeless.” His stated mission is blunter still: “To make people feel less alone.”
Before Toronto, there is a hometown obligation. The third annual Jack’s Jam, his own festival, is set for Nov. 27, 2026, at Bogart’s in Cincinnati.
Tickets for the Opera House date go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time. Kays will be 28 by the time he reaches Queen Street.
