“You’re Nothing Special” is a Spanish original supernatural drama series conceived by Estíbaliz Burgaleta. Some of you might have already heard her name before because Burgaleta also served as a writer for the Spanish drama series “Skam España” and Netflix hit series “Cable Girls.” In addition to that Laura M. Campos and Inma Torrente helmed three episodes each from screenplays jotted down by Burgaleta, Sergio Granda, and Alberto Grondona.
The series stars Dèlia Brufau, Oskar de la Fuente, Ainara Perez, Jaime Wang, Elia Galera, Jordi Aguilar, María Mercado, Gabriel Guevara, Víctor Pérez, Miriam Cabeza, Unai Arana, and others. The first season of “You’re Nothing Special” premiered on September 2, 2022.
What is the Show About?
The series centers on a young teenage girl called Amaia, whose life takes a drastic turn when she’s compelled to leave her life in Barcelona, Spain to shift to her mother’s dull looking hometown. But when Amaia finds out she inherited her grandma’s abilities and that her grandma was the rumored witch, she learns that her mother’s village is not so boring after all.
Netflix’s official synopsis reads: “Amaia’s life, according to her, just sucks. Overnight, she has to say goodbye to her life in Barcelona, where she has all her friends and her day-to-day already established, to go live in her mother’s village, where NOTHING ever happens. However, she will soon discover something that could turn her life around… that perhaps she has inherited the powers of her grandmother: a woman she never met, but with the reputation of being the only witch that has ever lived in the town of Salabarria.”
You’re Nothing Special Season 2: Is it Renewed?
As of October 2022, Netflix has yet to bestow the green light for the second installment. Judging by the audience’s positive reaction to the first season, it is highly likely that “You’re Nothing Special” will return with another season at some point. Though for now we might have to wait for further announcements regarding the renewal status.
You’re Nothing Special Season 2 Release Date
Because the show has not been renewed yet for season two, there is no premiere date scheduled. But we do think that the series will not end with the first season as there are many untold stories yet to be uncovered.
Needless to say, if “You’re Nothing Special” get renewed for a second run, it is expected that the new set of episodes will be out sometime in 2023.

Plot details are not known as it hasn’t been talked about by the showrunners but the story would likely continue from where it was left off.
