Mel Gibson is set to direct the upcoming thriller Flight Risk for Lionsgate, with Mark Wahlberg attached to star. The film will follow a pilot who is tasked with transporting a dangerous criminal for trial, but things quickly go wrong when the criminal escapes and the pilot is framed for his murder.
Gibson is no stranger to directing action thrillers, having previously directed the films Edge of Darkness (2010) and Hacksaw Ridge (2016). Wahlberg is also a proven box office draw, having starred in films such as The Departed (2006), Transformers (2007), and The Fighter (2010).
Flight Risk is currently in pre-production, with a release date set for sometime in 2024.
