IShowSpeed, a popular youtuber, was recently doing a live streaming video in Brazil with another content creator Arab when masked men approached them and “fake” kidnapped the 18 year old man. The prank which was then revealed to have been orchestrated by Arab, managed to take a toll on the youtuber who said how he had thought that he would die.
IShowSpeed was reportedly doing the live stream in a street in Brazil when the men approached him with bats and cornered him to a nearby wall. The youtuber who is known for his live streams is visibly clueless since the beginning on what is happening and the confusion turns into fear with him breaking down and taking a while to become calm after the prank was revealed. The concerning factor is how kidnapping is not something to be made into a prank and there were comments made on social media pointing out how the entire situation is not funny. Yet, the matter is seemingly pushed off as a harmless prank when it could have been avoided in the first place.
Youtube/ social media pranks are not new and many do crazy ordeals for the reach but there is always a limit to the extent to which one can get. Pranks can be harmless to oneself and others but can also take a devastating turn and send off a bad message or become dangerous to the ones present. While the situation of the youtuber did not result in anything harmful as the men present and the youtubers revealed the truth almost instantly, IShowSpeed was seemingly in distress regarding the whole affair. Moreover, the seriousness of such an alleged prank should be understood as there is always the possibility of things going wrong. Nonetheless, the youtuber regained his composure a while later, ending the video positively.
