Di Novi Pictures’ upcoming project is a feature film titled as ‘St. Mary’s Catholic School Presents the Vagina Monologues’. To be shot in Toronto, the film will narrate the events that take place in a boarding school when one trapped rebellious student stages a production. Di Novi Pictures is a known production company whose works include, ‘The Best of Me’ which premiered in 2014 and was directed by Michael Hoffman, ‘Practical Magic’ with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in the cast, ‘A Walk to Remember’ which premiered in 2002, ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’ which was directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa.
The upcoming feature film will potentially be directed by Tanya Wexler. Tanya Wexler is a known filmmaker whsoe works include, ‘Hysteria’ which premiered in 2011 and is a romantic comedy, ‘Jolt’ which featured Kate Beckinsale, Jai Courtney, Laverne Cox and David Bradley in the cast, and more. Hannah Hafey and Kaitlin Smith will be composing the screenplay for ‘St. Mary’s Catholic School Presents the Vagina Monologues’. Hannah Hafey and Kaitlin Smith are emerging artists. Currently, the feature film is under active development.
Plot of ‘St. Mary’s Catholic School’
‘St. Mary’s Catholic School Presents the Vagina Monologues’ commences with an introduction to Alex Heck, a rebel with a purple fauxhawk and biker boots. Being a student at St. Mary’s Catholic School (a strict boarding school) she feels trapped. Despite trying everything she can to get expelled, she’s still in the school and seems to find no other way to get out. So Alex decides to take matters into her own hands and consequentially, introduces the school’s first ever production as ‘The Vagina Monologues’ except, no one else at St Mary’s can digest the production she has staged.
Denise Di Novi, Margaret French Isaac, Andrea Roa and Sabrina Parra will be joining the crew for ‘ ‘St. Mary’s Catholic School Presents the Vagina Monologues’ as its producers. Denise Di Novi is a renowned producer and the founder of Di Novi Pictures. Margaret French Isaac is another established producer whose works include, ‘The Sky Is Everywhere’ which premiered in 2022 and more. Andrea Roa and Sabrina Parra are other known producers.
Sofia Wylie to Potentially Star as Alex Heck
Sofia Wylie, a known actress is reportedly in talks for the role of Alex Heck.
