Sandra Oh Biography

Sandra Miju Oh, also known as Sandra Miju Oh, is a Canadian American actress. She is known for essaying Cristina Yang’s role on the ABC medical drama series Grey’s Anatomy. She has also worked in Killing Eve, where she played the role of Eve Polastri. She has won several accolades, golden globe awards, and guild awards for the best onscreen actor. For her screen presence and acting skills. She also has been nominated several times for Emmy awards. Since childhood, she excelled in acting and ballet.  At the age of 10, she played the wizard of Woe in a musical parody. She also was an environmentalist since her childhood and had founded the environment club at her school.

She studied ballet and acting throughout high school. Growing up, she emphasized more on being an actor. She even took drama classes to hone her skills as an actor. She gains recognition for her roles in Asian Canadian films Double Happiness and the diary of Evelyn Lau. She also stepped into the television world and is appreciated for Rita Wu’s role in the HBO sitcom Arliss.

She has also led her voice in American Dad, American Dragon, Jake Long, The proud family, Phineas and Ferb, She-RA, and Power’s princess. Sandra Oh gained recognition in Korea after performing as the lead in the Canadian film Double Happiness, where she played Jade Li’s role. She also co-starred in the thriller The night listener alongside Robin Willams. She is not just an actor but also showed her proficiency in anchoring by hosting 28th genie awards. She also hosted Canada’s walk of fame in 2011.

Sandra Oh: Family

Born in Nepean, Ontario, in 1971, she was the daughter of a middle class south Korean immigrant family.  She grew up in a Christian household alongside her brother Ray and sister Grace. Her mother, Jeon Young Nam, was a biochemist, and her father, Oh- Jun-Su, a businessman. Her parents left Korea in the early 1960s and settled in Ontario. Her sister is a lawyer and her brother a geneticist with a Ph.D. She is the only member in her family who is devoid of a master’s degree. There she was born and spent her growing years. Oh was in a relationship with filmmaker Alexander Payne for five years. She later married him, but the marriage did not last long, and they parted ways in 2006. However, she has no child of her own but is content being an aunt to her two siblings’ children.

The Canadian actress has a net worth of $25 million. She earned a salary of $350,000 per episode of Grey’sGrey’s Anatomy. Initially, she earned $125,000 per episode. Her net worth increased with her accolades; over time, she has proved her mettle in acting to the world.
