Sandra Miju Oh, also known as Sandra Miju Oh, is a Canadian American actress. She is known for essaying Cristina Yang’s role on the ABC medical drama series Grey’s Anatomy. Born in Nepean, Ontario, in 1971, she was the daughter of a middle class south Korean immigrant family. She grew up in a Christian household alongside her brother Ray and sister Grace. Her mother, Jeon Young Nam, was a biochemist, and her father, Oh- Jun-Su, a businessman. Her parents left Korea in the early 1960s and settled in Ontario. Her sister is a lawyer and her brother a geneticist with a Ph.D. She is the only member in her family who is devoid of a master’s degree. There she was born and spent her growing years. Oh was in a relationship with filmmaker Alexander Payne for five years. She later married him, but the marriage did not last long, and they parted ways in 2006. However, she has no child of her own but is content being an aunt to her two siblings’ children.
