Sandra Miju Oh, also known as Sandra Miju Oh, is a Canadian American actress. She is known for essaying Cristina Yang’s role on the ABC medical drama series Grey’s Anatomy. Born in Nepean, Ontario, in 1971, she was the daughter of a middle class south Korean immigrant family. She grew up in a Christian household alongside her brother Ray and sister Grace. Her mother, Jeon Young Nam, was a biochemist, and her father, Oh- Jun-Su, a businessman. Her parents left Korea in the early 1960s and settled in Ontario. Her sister is a lawyer and her brother a geneticist with a Ph.D. She is the only member in her family who is devoid of a master’s degree. There she was born and spent her growing years. Oh was in a relationship with filmmaker Alexander Payne for five years. She later married him, but the marriage did not last long, and they parted ways in 2006.
