This flick began 15 years back on a budget as low as $15000, and since then, the film franchise has become an absolute favourite for people all over. Yes, here we’re referring to the Paranormal Activity 2007 original which had a box office collection of almost $200 million. These huge figures were enough for Paramount to announce its sequel in 2010. So far, we have witnessed the collaboration of Blumhouse and Paramount for six Paramount Activity films. Each one brought something different to the screen and contributed to the massive success of this franchise taking the box office total to 890$ million.
Producer and Blumhouse founder Jason Blum revealed that the upcoming movie reboot has wrapped and will hit the theatres on Halloween day.
Jason said, “The movie’s done. Yeah, we did it.”
“Paramount wanted to continue Paranormal Activity, I probably would have left it alone. So they wanted to continue it, but I thought if they were gonna continue it, you gotta – it was tiring, there was no way to continue the road that we’d been down.” He added.
Amidst this, comes a pleasant surprise in the form of an announcement made by Blum that hints at the arrival of the seventh instalment of Paramount Activity. The producer confirms the return of Landon which has further left many questions in the minds of people. Whether Landon will be seen in the scribe’s avatar or giving directions to the whole movie.
After the revelation, Landon denied taking any role as either a writer or a director through a tweet. Yet he will assist in setting a new course for the franchise movie. Isn’t that exciting? Landon has penned down four Paranormal Activity flicks- 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Paranormal Activity 7: Cast
Unveiling the cast of Paranormal Activity Seven is a bit difficult because the film is in the initial phase of production presently. Besides, there are no official statements from the production team about the cast. But we are hoping for the return of a few previous characters including Kattie Featherston who has been a part of all six films. Kattie has played the role of an adult and a child in the flick, who is possessed and tortured by evil spirits. The recent integration of dimension-hopping and time travel to the franchise favours the second appearance of previous characters. With all that said, everything is mere speculation and we await to learn more details about the same.
Paranormal Activity 7: Plot
The film’s producers have a clear idea about what they are planning to make, yet they have not made anything official yet. From the last flicks, we can fairly assume that the forthcoming film will have an element of alternative universes and time travel. It is still not known whether the filmmakers will amplify the complexity level of the mythology or not. The plot has been strictly kept under wraps but Blum gave a few hints on what to expect.
Blum disclosed that he wanted to do something new this time, “So I really encouraged all the creative people involved to think of something new. A lot of people who are going to go see the new Paranormal Activity were 3 years old when the first Paranormal Activity came out, so they don’t even know from those older movies. I thought if you were going to re-do it, you better really re-do it, not try and expand what we did all those years ago.”

Paramount Studio has given their consent to the making and release of the seventh part long before. What’s exciting is that the director of the fabled horror marvel, Underwater, William Eubank will direct the new film. The 7th flick is scheduled to be released on October 29, 2021. It was also reported that a documentary about the Paranormal Activity franchise is also in development..
Tanya Giles, who is the CPO of Viacom CBS Streaming announced this great piece of news during the TCA tour. She said, “A new Paranormal Activity from Paramount Players should bring fans an unexpected reimagining of the beloved horror franchise — We’ll also be launching a documentary on the making of the Paranormal Activity feature. Both of which will be coming to the service in time for Halloween.”
Compared to the previous movies, the latest instalment will be a lot different and we are gladly looking forward and top of that we’re also getting a documentary. What more could we ask for? “Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin” hitting your way on October 29, 2021, make your calendars and free your schedules. Till then, keep the excitement going and hear up to have a haunted Halloween!
