All About Lupin?

Lupin is a French thriller series that features Omar Sy in the lead role as Assane Diop. It released its first part comprising five episodes in January 2021 followed by its second part in June 2021. The fact that the series was renewed for a third part ahead of its second installment is a testimony to the show’s popularity.

Lupin centers around Assane Diop, who is inspired by a 1900s fictional character, Arsene Lupin, a master mugger. The story goes like this. Assane’s father moves to France from Senegal for his son’s betterment, who is later falsely charged with robbing a diamond necklace by Hubert Pellegrini, an affluent and eminent figure. The boy’s father used to work under Hubert. This event transforms the young Assane’s destiny and makes him an orphan. As Assane grows up into an adult, he swears vengeance against Pellegrini and throws the veil off his criminal activities. It follows power-packed action performances with twists and turns.

When will Lupin Season 3 come out?

In May, 2021, Lupin was officially renewed for season 3.

According to star Omar Sy who plays as Assane Diop, the third season is indeed in the works. In an interview with EW, he said, “We’re talking about that right now. We have a lot of ideas and things that we want to do and say, but we’re still in the writing process.”

In a recent conversation with Deadline, Omar Sy revealed what the future holds for Lupin, he said, “We’ll see what Netflix wants to do with this franchise. The first bet that we won was to bring this character to life and to create a franchise. The franchise exists and now it’s up to Netflix to see what they want to do with it. We’ll see what they propose, but this is a character that is super enjoyable and who I would take great pleasure in revisiting tomorrow if I can.”

As of now, no official air date has been provided. The previous seasons of Lupin have aired just six months apart, if production goes smoothly without any delays we’re expected for the third season of Lupin to arrive sometime in 2022.

The Netflix series co-creator George Kay in a chat with Radio Times disclosed that they’re expecting Lupin Season 3 to premiere in 2022, so there you go the man himself said it.

Lupin Season 3: Storyline

Season 2 ended on a cliffhanger with Assane escaping the chase of the French officials. We could see a blend of drama, thrill, and crime in the third part as well. With no concrete details about the plot, it is not easy to anticipate the storyline of season three, however, we are expecting it to be as captivating as its last parts. We could see the protagonist, Assane embarking on an exciting yet risky journey to fulfill his mission. Know Who is Returning for Lupin’s third part

There is a possibility that the show’s main characters would return for another season. Omar Sy would take the centre stage as he takes up the role of the master thief, Assane Diop. Besides him, we could see the supporting cast members consisting of Ludivine Sagnier, Etan Simon, Fargass Assandé, Antoine Gouy, Hervé Pierre. Nicole Garcia, Clotilde Hesme, Vincent Garanger, and Soufiane Guerrab in their respective roles. Nothing has been revealed about the new additions to the cast, but that does not imply that new faces would not appear. We look forward to more information pouring in from the series creators.

Lupin Season 3 Trailer?

As of now, the trailer of Lupin Season 3 is not released. Given that there’s no news about the official release date for season 3, we do not know when the trailer will be released. 

Final Words

As of May 2022, there isn’t much that we heard from the showmakers. It was previously confirmed by showrunner George Kay that the series is expected to arrive sometime in 2022 and we’re already halfway through the year till now an official release has not been announced nor a teaser trailer has been published. 

Nonetheless, we still have months ahead of us and hopefully, we will get an official announcement soon concerning the third season’s release date and some other important updates.
