One of the prime incidents that took place in the life of the once famous Hollywood actress Lana Turner will be the main focus of this upcoming feature film which is to be titled as, ‘A Murder in Hollywood’. Being a popular star with a thriving career spanning over 5 decades, Lana did lead a presumably happy life with her daughter Cheryl. However, her affair with mobster Johnny Stompanato, who worked for the west coast mob boss Mickey Cohen, resulted in her personal life becoming severely endangered. What followed was the actress putting up with a series of abuses, violent and unpredictable behavior. While the rest of the world remained fairly oblivious to the actress’ plight, Lana’s teenage daughter, Cheryl, had to watch her mother’s safety become threatened with Stompanato’s intense jealousy as he began interfering in both her personal and professional life. Even Lana’s attempt at breaking it off with Stompanato was met with disastrous consequences. This culminated in a murder one night wherein Stompanato was found dead on Lana’s bedroom floor, with Cheryl claiming to have plunged a knife into his abdomen in an attempt to protect her mother. ‘A Murder in Hollywood’ will showcase this incident alongside the consequential trials that carried on with it.
Lana Turner was known both as a model and actress with some of her famous portrayals being, Cora Smith in the film ‘The Postman Always Rings Twice’, Lady de Winter in ‘The Three Musketeers’ and Constance MacKenzie in ‘Peyton Place’ among others. She was also a recipient of numerous accolades.
