Star Vin Diesel revealed that Fast & Furious 11 will be the final outing of the franchise.
Back in October 2020, it was formally declared that Fast & Furious 10 will have two parts. Director Justin Lin is on board to helm Fast & Furious 10th and 11th. Filming is scheduled to commence next year for both the films back to back in January 2022.
Gibson (Via Collider) said, “I have definitely asked some questions about 10 and 11. It has been confirmed we are going to shoot back-to-back and get both in the can. Which is interesting. I’m hearing that we’re going to touch a lot of continents between the two. I cannot say where, but a lot. The higher-ups that are involved in this franchise are specifically aware of the die-hard fans and supporters around the world. We all carry a particular torch of responsibility and knowing there is a beast, and we need to feed that beast and give them what they want, what they love, and what they’re used to.”
Fast and Furious 9 began filming in 2019 and the release date for the movie was delayed for a year due to the ongoing pandemic as cinemas halls were shut down and the whole film industry was badly affected. Fast & Furious 10 was originally meant to arrive in 2022 but had to be postponed. The movie is now slated for a release on 7th April 2023.
When is the release date for Fast & Furious 11?
Diesel once disclosed to EW that production is scheduled to begin in January 2022, with Fast & Furious 10 and 11 to shoot continuously and wrap up the $1 billion series.
As of now, there is no official confirmation about the specific release date for Fast & Furious 11 but it’s expected that the eleventh movie of the franchise to arrive sometime in January to February 2024.
“Just wait for 10,” Diesel told on EW’s BINGE: The Fast Saga. “Let’s just say, the fact that you guys know that the studio is saying we can’t cover all this ground that needs to be covered in just one movie, you can only imagine what is to come.”
Producer Neal Moritz and Vin Diesel have both discussed the fact that these movies will create the ending for the main Fast saga. Diesel has also mentioned that he is ready to support any forthcoming spin-offs, admitting “it’d be good to give back to Universal” in return for its support over the past two decades and noting it would be nice for this world to continue for generations to come.”
