All the three seasons of Kuroko’s Basketball proved to be super hits at the box office. As of now, the trilogy has sold over 30 million units across the world.
Keeping the success of the films in mind, even today – 7 years after the release of the last chapter, the makers want to make a comeback for its fourth instalment of the series.
Excited much…?
Kuroko’s Basketball: A Brief Wrap Up
Kuroko’s Basketball is a comedy-drama Japanese sports manga TV series, an abbreviation of 黒子のバスケthat first aired on April 7, 2021. The show was directed by Shunsuke Tada; written by Tadatoshi Fujimaki, and adapted as an anime TV series by Production I.G.
The series, basically, follows the journey of ‘The Teiko Junior High’ basketball team, which rose to distinction by demolishing basketball teams within Japan (winning the junior high Nationals for three consecutive years). As of now, the series has completed its three consecutive editions and now the makers are heading towards the fourth one.
Kurokos Basketball Season 4 Release Date
The show’s first season aired 25 episodes from April 8 to September 22, 2012. After season 1 was a hit, season 2 debuted on October 16, 2013, and ran until March 30, 2014.
The 25-episode second season was a success and popular favorite, prompting the third season, which started on January 11, 2015, and ran until June 30, 2015.
The fourth season of Kurokos Basketball’s production is unlikely; it may be because the manga series is ‘complete.’ The finished film has a clear and tidy ending, satisfying viewers.
Even the characters in their third year have graduated. Thus, there seems to be little room for side storylines to advance the franchise. Show characters also resonate with fans. Fans are less likely to see ‘Kuruko no Basket’ season 4.

Kuroko’s Basketball probably won’t return for season 4: Here’s why
Kuroko’s Basketball most likely won’t return for season 4. That’s right, the fourth season of Kuroko’s Basketball is probably not going to happen. The sequel movie had a conclusion that felt definitive. Additionally, season 3 of Kuroko’s Basketball appears to be the last season as the manga series on which the anime is based has been finished.
Kuroko’s Basketball season 4 expected plot
The basketball team from Teikou Junior High School, which is well-known for winning the title three years in a row, is the subject of the first chapter of “Kuroko’s Basketball.”
Five key players on the team regularly shock opponents with their extraordinary skills and performance. However, they do graduate and separate ways as rivals from other high schools.
Basketball players from Seirin High School Tetsuya Kuroko and Taiga Kagami have recently received offers from colleges. Given his previous experience in the US and his tall, athletic build, Taiga’s skills are quite clear, but Kuroko seems like a strange choice for the team.
Kuroko, unlike Taiga, lacks both height and physical aptitude, but he has a special talent on the court: the ability to move around covertly. He is known as the team’s “phantom sixth man” because of his sly moves, ability to toss the ball, and capacity to help his teammates during the game.
In the anime, Taiga and Kuroko participate in the Interhigh Championship alongside the rest of the Seirin High School team. Along the way, they run into a number of highly skilled opponents who were once a part of the renowned Teikou High School team and have incredible abilities that only Taiga and Kuroko can match.
