Before We Die provided us with suspense, drama, and mystery. As Lesley Sharp skillfully portrayed Detective Inspector Hannah Laing, viewers were engulfed in mystery, unsure of the future for their favorite characters.

Will Before We Die season 3 return in 2023?
As of January 2023, the series Before We Die is yet to be renewed for season 3.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com and other press, Sharp said: “They all survive by the skin of their teeth so they need a bit of rest and recuperation if they’re coming back.
“But you know, I think the thing is those questions are always down to– they’re sort of not really down to us. It’s down to whether or not the show proves to be something that people want to watch,” she added. “You can’t second guess that. You can keep your fingers crossed because you think something’s good but there’s no knowing.”
In addition, Before We Die star Patrick Gibson, who plays Christian, previously Digital Spy: “There’s no plot lines that are left unanswered necessarily, but the show ends on – like yeah absolutely [there could be] more, it could develop.
“I would love to [make a second season], I think even just to see… because for every character there’s an emotional arc that happens where they’re not the same person as they are at the start of the show,” he said. “[To] pick that up and see a whole other few episodes with them would be really cool… Hopefully!”
What to expect from the plot of Before We Die season three?
Before We Die’s series one finale sets things up for series two. With Kane asking Hannah to “find the b*****d who betrayed us” – in other words, which police officer within their unit was leaking information to the Mimicas. We already know that Hannah and her colleagues are yet to find that out.
What’s more, speaking to RadioTimes.com and other press ahead of the show’s premiere, star Vincent Regan said that a second series could explore drug crime outside of the Mimica family.
“With a drama like Before We Die, it’s like you pull at a thread on a piece of a garment and you keep pulling and pulling and you realize that the thread is getting longer and longer.
“When it gets to the end of episode six, we’ve been pulling lots of threads but we still realize there is a hell of a big cardigan that you can carry on pulling and, when it comes to organized drug crime in Bristol, you expose the Mimicas and another gang and then you realize there are more gangs, there are more bent cops.
“So I think that the situation we arrive at towards the end is, ‘Oh my god, we’ve done that but what the hell else is there out there?’ So I think if the audience loves the show and Channel 4 loves the show then there are of course possibilities.”
How did Before We Die end?
The Mimicas were aware of Christian’s links to the police all along, as revealed in the final episode of Before We Die when Bianca sneakily gives Christian a video of Sean being tortured at Dubravka’s birthday party. Sean tells Zvonomir that Christian is his source in the video, and while Davor goes upstairs to look for him, Sean snatches the laptop and flees out a bedroom window.
The Mimica family is suspected of utilising a cabin to hold a significant consignment of cocaine that was smuggled into the nation using the huge submarine Krajina, according to the police, led by Hannah and Billy. However, Hannah receives a call from Christian informing her that they have been set up just as the team starts to realise something is severely wrong. Only a few police officers escape the burning cabin in the seconds after she sounds the alert.
Fran (Nisha Nayar), who has been watching from afar the entire time, arrives to help Hannah as she lies injured in the nearby woods, shouts for help, and draws a gun on Zvonomir—only to be shot by one of his goons.
Christian, meanwhile, flees with Davor’s laptop while being pursued by the crime family boss in his flashy Range Rover on foot. While still running, he drops the laptop and boards a bus to get away from Davor and his team. Christian has escaped and left the watch Davor gave him at the start of the series behind as Davor comes up to him, some how managed to trace Christian on his phone.
In the meantime, Hannah updates Kane on the investigation’s specifics, revealing that they kept their colleagues in the dark since they were aware of a leak within the unit. Hannah refuses to share the identity of their source, but they establish that in order for their case to be accepted by the court, they must obtain the video of Billy’s torture.
Christian then gives Hannah a final hug before leaving the country with Bianca. In the meantime, Hannah meets with Kane, who informs her that he discovered proof of Sean’s torture among Fran’s records as well as evidence that Christian was his contact. He reinstates Hannah and asks her to identify the Mimica’s agent within the force, making a vow to keep Christian’s identity a secret while doing so.
