Throughout the years, Fast & Furious has become imprinted in our collective consciousness. We’ve seen all nine films in the main series, and the tenth and eleventh instalments will leave us in tears. The movie is directed by Justin Lin and written by Gary Thompson.
It is the sequel to Fast and Furious 9 (2021) released and has grossed a total of $500.30 million around the world thus far. Making it the first Hollywood film to do so during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
In October 2020, Universal Pictures officially announced that the Fast and Furious franchise would be wrapped with Fast & Furious 11 and also confirmed that Justin Lin will be directing the final instalment in the series.
However, it was later confirmed that Lin will be stepping down from his position as a director. He said: “With the support of Universal, I have made the difficult decision to step back as director of FAST X, while remaining with the project as a producer. Over 10 years and five films, we have been able to shoot the best actors, the best stunts, and the best damn car chases.
“On a personal note, as the child of Asian immigrants, I am proud of helping to build the most diverse franchise in movie history. I will forever be grateful to the amazing cast, crew, and studio for their support, and for welcoming me into the FAST family,” Lin added.
Want to know more about the highly anticipated movie Fast and Furious 10? Here is everything that you need to know.
Fast and Furious 10: Release Date
Universal initially announced that Fast & Furious is slated for April 7, 2023, but now it looks like the movie has been pushed back to May 19, 2023.
The movie is still in production. Diesel confirmed in June 2020 that pre-production for the finale, which “starts only months from now,” is already in progress. This suggests that filming could begin as soon as the end of 2021.
However, Justin Lin stated in April 2021 that he does not anticipate beginning production in 2021, implying that it will be at least 2022 before cameras begin rolling on the end of the “Fast Saga.”
Justin Lin also disclosed that he and the other members of the film’s spin machine are on the “right track” with the development of the franchise at this point.
Fast and Furious 10: Cast
The majority of the “familia” will return for the next film in the series, including—
Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto
Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz
Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce
Chris “Ludacris” Bridges as Tej Parker
Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsay
When Paul Walker passed away in 2015, he was in the middle of filming Furious 7, and his roles were filled with CGI and body doubles. Something similar will likely be considered for Fast & Furious 10 for Brian to have a minor role.
Fast and Furious 10: Plot
There are a few unanswered questions, such as if Mr Nobody is still living and also what Jakob is going to do next, but they feel more like plot developments than significant setups for the rest of the saga.
The credits sequence, in which Han visits Shaw, who is rightfully astonished to see him, is a massive tease for the next film. Will Shaw let the past be the past after accidentally assisting Han in keeping Project Aries protected? Or will Han’s unexpected homecoming lead to Shaw’s re-emergence as a villain?
Something that we can confidently predict for the two-part finale is that Dom and his family will be presented with yet another quest to save the planet, as well as facing threat to his familia.
