Commencing its filming by the end of November in Longview, Texas is the feature film, ‘Porch Pirates’ and its plot is definitely an intriguing one. The film is set during the Christmas holiday season in a charming suburban neighborhood whose peace is disturbed by a series of daring thefts, except the theft revolves around Christmas presents. This group of relentless porch pirates who instigates the theft, targets Christmas presents and succeeds in their endeavor as cases of stolen presents soon appear. Consequentially, the cases are assigned to Detective Sarah Walker and her partner, Detective James Rodriguez who waste no time in investigating the theft. However, what seemed like an easy task is soon revealed to be quite the opposite as the investigation led by the pair of detectives leads to a web of secrets, betrayal, and unlikely alliances within the community. Seemingly, the porch pirates are more organized and cunning than what they initially assumed. Now, with Christmas nearing and the clock ticking, the detectives must navigate the treacherous terrain before the damage is irreversible.
The production for this upcoming feature film is taken up under Ichthys Films. Ichthys Films is an emerging production company whose works include, ‘Blind Turn’ a thriller drama which starred Rachel Boston and Jay Dee Walters, ‘Chasing Ghosts’ a comedy which premiered in 2014 and ‘Cecil’ a family comedy which was directed by Spenser Fritz. The film ‘Grumpy Old Santa’ which is another project under Ichthys Films was also filmed at Longview.
Jeff Hamm and More to Join the Crew for ‘Porch Pirates’
Jeff Hamm, an emerging artist will be joining the crew for ‘Porch Pirates’ as its director. Some of the works of Jeff Hamm include, ‘Operation Overlord’ which premiered in 2021 and ‘Pancho and the Angry Boss Man’ a short which premiered in 2017. Additionally, Jeff Hamm will be composing the screenplay for the upcoming feature film.
Jay Dee Walters, Ray Monts and Michael Daughtry will be heading the production crew for ‘Porch Pirates’. Jay Dee Walters is a surfacing actor who has previously starred in ‘Grumpy Old Santa’ (which he produced) and other productions under Ichthys Films such as ‘Blind Turn’ and more. Ray Monts and Michael Daughtry are other emerging producers.
The cast list and updates on the additional crew for the upcoming film is yet to be announced. Yet, with the filming commencing soon, ‘Porch Pirates’ can be predicted to potentially premiere in the following year.
