The “Chief” at solving atypical murders is back as the popular crime thriller ‘Dalgliesh’ gets renewed for another season. Awaiting Adam Dalgliesh for the next season is a string of murders with a witness, forensic scientist and a criminal lawyer is killed with no surface connection tying the three victims to one another. Dr. Lorrimer, a forensic scientist with temper issues is found brutally murdered in his desk while criminal lawyer Venetia Aldridge is killed following her case of defending a son’s murder of his mother. It is up to Detective Dalgliesh to solve the mysteries and as he begins his search, he is exposed to deep truths of human psyches.
The premise for the upcoming season of ‘Dalgliesh’ promises a fresh start for the acclaimed series. Being an adaptation of P.D. James’ novels, Dalgliesh differs from other crime thrillers as it relies less on the spooky side. The primary character of the series, Adam Dalgliesh is also one with an interesting backstory which makes the viewers instantly curious about him.

‘Dalgliesh’ season three will reportedly begin its shooting only by next year with the location evidently being Belfast, Ireland like its former seasons. Ryan Tohill will potentially continue as the director for the upcoming season alongside his brother Andy Tohill and Geoffrey Sax. Helen Edmundson, the renowned British playwright who has been credited with plays such as ‘The Clearing’ and ‘Queen Anne’ will join the crew as the writer for season 3.
Bertie Carvel will hopefully reprise his role as Adam Dalgliesh alongside Carlyss Peer who plays the role of Kate Miskin as they continue to deliver their stellar performance. Season 3 of ‘Dalgliesh’ will return after a seemingly longer time gap than its previous seasons which were released only a year apart from one another. Yet, it is expected to be well worth the wait.
