Following the success of their recent release, ‘Barbie’, directed by Greta Gerwig, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are rumored to reunite on screens for an upcoming production that is supposedly a prequel to the Ocean’s films. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are popular and skilled actors who were previously seen as Barbie and Ken in the LuckyChap Enertainment produced film ‘Barbie’ which premiered on July this year. Some of the other known works of Margot Robbie include the ‘Suicide Squad’ film series, ‘I Tonya’, ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, ‘The Legend of Tarzan’ and ‘Harley Quinn: Birds Of Prey’. Ryan Gosling is also known for his performances in films, ‘La La Land’, ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’, ‘The Notebook’ and ‘The Gray Man’ besides others.
Javier Bardem, another popular actor is reportedly in talks for the role of Aristotle Onassis, the main antagonist of the upcoming prequel film. Some of Javier Bardem’s known films include, ‘No Country for Old Men’, ‘Skyfall’ from the James Bond film series, ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’.
Plot, Crew, Location and More for the Ocean’s Prequel
The films in the Ocean’s series are known worldwide with actors George Clooney, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts portraying iconic roles in the heist film series. The upcoming prequel will focus on two characters, Elsie Brunner and Jack Mason who surprisingly enter a collaboration in seeking revenge. The year is 1962, when Elsie Brunner, a charming woman, attends a mansion party to steal a pair of valuable earrings. There, she encounters Jack Mason, another stunning safecracker who is present for the same purpose. Despite developing a mutual dislike for one another, the couple manage to steal the earrings and separate after the party, with Elsie unknowingly taking the valuable commodity. They are reunited later in Monte Carlo when they discover a priceless jewel owned by
shipping mogul by the name of Aristotle Onassis, who has a past with Jack. Seeking revenge, they plot to steal the precious diamond and rid Aristotle Onassis of his wealth. For the same, they assemble a diverse team of men and women.
Carrie Solomon and Charles Randoloh will be joining the crew as the writers for the film while Jay Roach will serve as the director of the upcoming prequel film. Jay Roach is a well known filmmaker whose works include, ‘Austin Powers’ film series, ‘Meet the Parents’, ‘Bombshell’ and more. Seeing as how Monte Carlo is present in the plot, the upcoming film will most likely have the place as its location alongside Monaco and the United Kingdom.
