Showrunner Vince Gilligan who is known for his works, ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘Hancock’, ‘Battle Creek’ and ‘Talking Saul’, is supposedly developing a new series with Rhea Seehorn in talks for the lead role. Titled, ‘Wycaro’, this upcoming series is said to progress in a similar manner as ‘The Twilight Zone’. ‘The Twilight Zone’ was initially released as a five season series by Rod Sterling from 1959 to 1964 starring Rod Serling, Billy Mumy, Elizabeth Montgomery and William Shatner among others. The series has since received numerous adaptations spanning throughout the following years. ‘Wycaro’ is described as being set in the modern day world with its own twist, bending the known reality, focusing on people and exploring the human condition and its specificities in an unexpected yet surprising way. The upcoming series is predicted to follow the usual style of Vince Gilligan wherein he swiftly combines drama with humor thereby bringing forth the best of both genres.
Rhea Seehorn, who began her acting career through film and television had her first big break through her role in the ‘Breaking Bad’ prequel series for which she received several nominations. She is a well known actress who has previously worked with Vince Gilligan in entertainers including, ‘Better Call Saul’ and ‘Talking Saul’. Some of her other works are, ‘Cooper’s Bar’, ‘Things Heard and Seen’, ‘Whitney’ and ‘Linoleum’. ‘Wycaro’ is rumored to be a sci-fi themed series which will possibly carry stellar visuals.
Meet the Crew
Under High Bridge Productions and Mesquite Productions, ‘Wycaro’ is supposedly commencing its production in the following year in Albuquerque. Given that the writers’ strike is continuing, there has not been much updates on the progression of the upcoming series. Yet, as always, we have news for you.
Joining the crew as its producers are Jeff Frost (CEO and President of Bristol Circle Entertainment, a production company), Diane Mercer (‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’) and Jenn Carroll (‘A Breaking Bad Movie’ and ‘Better Call Saul’). Other additions to the crew include, Sharon Bialy, Sherry Thomas, Russell Scott and Julie Hartley.
‘Wycaro’ is rumored to have two set seasons that the crew is planning on developing. Though the initial date for the production was July 2023, the extension might actually work in their favor as quality sci-fi series are stagnant in the current television industry. So if you are indeed a fan of sci-fi themed entertainers, then this upcoming production may suite your taste, a great deal.
