All About Polaris?
Polaris is a multi-cultural feature film that debuted on October 16, 2016. Created by Christina Jo’Leigh and Mahdi Davari, the film is based on a script written by Soudabeh Moradian and Naghmeh Samini.
It stars Bahram Radan, Alicja Bachleda, Coby Ryan McLaughlin and Roya Teymourian. Polaris the first U.S. Iranian collaboration produced in the U.S. after the revolution and which received its license to screen theatrically in Iran in 2018.
The storyline of the series, Polaris shows the journey of a young immigrant journalist, half Iranian-half German, who suffers from PTSD. The production behind the series are Cinematic Artistry and Sahara Pictures.
News on Couple Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara Joining the Cast of Polaris?
Yes, it is officially confirmed that Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara will again play together and share a single screen in Polaris by Lynne Ramsay.
Ramsay has already worked with them in many of his films The couple also worked with each other on multiple projects, such as Spike Jonze’s Her, and the 2018 documentary Dominion.
They were also present in Ramsay’s first film You Were Never Really Here, although it joins a longer list of upcoming projects for the Scottish filmmaker. Ramsay is also set to direct the film based on Stephen King novel, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, as well as being lined up to adapt a Margaret Atwood short story.
“It will be a busy schedule for a director that worked up her 1999 debut, Ratcatcher, with only three other features in 20 years. If there was ever a filmmaking embodiment of the mantra ‘a little goes a long way,’” said Lynne Ramsay.
Speaking about Polaris, Ramsay added that “it’s much more difficult when you come up with an original idea like this, but it’s impossible not to get excited when you’re preparing a movie with Joaquin.”
