When Wei-Chen literally plummeted from the heavens and lobbed a grenade into his life, Kin’s world was completely changed.
Kin was secretly fascinated with comic books, but they are real, and reality is much more amazing and fascinating than he could have ever dreamed. If stopping the Bull-demons’ heavenly revolt doesn’t give him the confidence boost he’s been looking for, there is no chance. So far, there’s only one season of the series American Born Chinese – here’s everything you need to know about the show’s second season!
American Born Chinese season 2 release date
Is a second season of American Born Chinese in the works? Of course, we hope so – however, there hasn’t been a renewal update from the maker’s end.
For Jin, a student in the tenth grade, things had just begun to fall into place. He was only starting to discern between who he is and who he wants to be and how he wants the world to perceive him, so we’d venture to say that his journey of self-discovery is far from complete. Particularly when you consider his full supernatural potential.
A season-two renewal has not yet been announced by Disney+, which is unfortunate but not yet cause for concern. In either case, it’s extremely doubtful that a second season would debut before the spring of 2024 – please stay connected with us for more updates!

American Born Chinese season two expected plot
When Jin defeated Niu Mowang (also known as the Bull Demon) and did so while bathed in a beautiful, unearthly light, in front of a stadium full of cheering spectators who dubbed him the “fourth scroll,” there were terrible repercussions.
He might have spared the skies and the Earth, but someone is now watching him because of what he did. Someone cunning enough to kidnap his parents. This enigmatic figure from Wei-Chen’s planet was gracious enough to present the teenager with a terrifying request: “Come with me if you want to see your parents again.”
The second season will probably focus on Jin’s role as the fourth scroll, which could also provide him access to powers he never could have imagined. That power may hold the secret to getting his parents back, so we think it’s appropriate.
The Jade Emperor may be unable to control Niu Mowang for very long, though. We find it hard to believe that this petulant “cow-baby” wouldn’t want Jin to pay for thwarting his revolt plans. Wei Chen will be returning, which is fortunate for us because he wouldn’t abandon his best friend to face an angry Bull-demon alone.
The second season will pick up from where the previous season left off; in case of more updates, we shall inform here – stay tuned!
