Urzila Carlson’s Toronto stop just got a second shift. Live Nation Ontario announced a late performance of the comedian’s Fatty On a Yacht tour at the Danforth Music Hall, added to her original date of Saturday, March 6, 2027.
The new show sits at 8:45 p.m., behind an earlier 5:45 p.m. set, according to Ticketmaster Canada listings. Two shows in a single night at a roughly 1,500-capacity room is a schedule promoters usually reserve for acts with demand to spare — and Carlson, a South African-born, New Zealand-based comic, has been generating plenty of it.
The show’s title comes from a real night out. Carlson turned up at a marina dressed for a fishing trip, expecting what she called “a tinny,” and instead boarded a friend’s boyfriend’s family super yacht with crew, jet skis and a hot tub aft. “They wouldn’t let me take my fishing rod on the boat,” she recalled. The hour that grew out of it is, in her words, about not fitting in, standing out, and laughing about it anyway.
The numbers back the booking. Carlson entertained more than 86,500 people across Australia in 2025 and picked up the People’s Choice Award for most tickets sold at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival — her fourth, after wins in 2019, 2022 and 2023.
Fatty On a Yacht opened with an 18-date run at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre during the 2026 festival, spread across April 7 to 19, before heading through Tamworth, Hobart, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Perth, Adelaide, Wollongong, Newcastle, Townsville, Cairns and Sydney, closing in Darwin on August 31. The Australian leg and a UK and Ireland swing that runs from Glasgow on September 9 to Oxford on September 30 — including two nights at the London Palladium — frame the Toronto dates as part of a two-year push.
The Danforth, which opened in 1919 as a silent-era movie palace on Danforth Avenue, is a familiar anchor for touring comics passing through the city’s east end. Carlson’s night there now runs from late afternoon to well past 10 p.m.
A long way from the fishing rod she wasn’t allowed to bring aboard.
