Upload season 3 plot: What to expect from the storyline further?
In a desperate bid to keep him, and realising she couldn’t continue living the upload life, Ingrid paid for Nathan’s body to be regrown in an extremely experimental treatment.
It has a very low success rate, with the only wins currently coming from a select number of pigeons. However, after realising he had been murdered to stop his potential programme, Beyond, allowing poor people to upload freely, Nathan spent a large amount of season two trying to figure out why.
Turns out it’s for political gain. With uploads not having the right to vote as their lives have technically ended, a sinister company called Freeyond was putting dozens of clinics in swing states to allow the poor and desperate to upload into a new life – and away from voting booths.
If they succeed, it means that hundreds of key votes will keep certain political juggernauts in power.
Turning to the Ludds for help, Nathan decides to download into the body anyway, despite the potential for death, in order to help Nora stop Freeyond before it’s too late.
His plan initially succeeds, and finally together, Nora and Nathan join the Ludds on a train bound to stop Freeyond.
However, in the final seconds, Nathan’s nose starts bleeding, suggesting that his new body is rejecting the downloaded soul. On top of that, realising she’s lost him, Ingrid starts a new power play, stealing hairs from his hairbrush to seemingly grow a new Nathan from scratch.
Season 3 of Upload is likely to pick up immediately in the aftermath of this decision, with Nathan and Nora on a race against the clock to save him before it’s too late.
It’ll also be largely political and away from Lakeview as the gang decide what to do next as they intend to take down Freeyond.
Speaking to The Wrap, Daniels added: “Like Schrödinger’s Cat, when we open the box we’ll see if the cat was alive or dead, but at the moment the cat is both alive and dead you know?
“I feel like it could be played out in a certain number of episodes and then in a certain different number of episodes, as long as there’s constantly enough pull forward and enough reveals.”
“I have to say that the specific details of the mystery plot are something that we worked out over the course of a lot of discussions and planting of clues and different possibilities,” he added.
“I don’t think we’re at the complete end of the mystery, I will just say. In hopeful optimism of a season three, I’m plotting more stuff now with some writers.”
Andy Allo, meanwhile has a very specific idea of where she wants Nora’s story to go.
Speaking to Digital Spy, she said: “I think I’d want to see Nora become really radicalised in a way and wanting to take down the whole thing. I want some action, go real rebel mode and be like, ‘Rah, let’s burn it all down’.”
“I’m in a tough position to answer that at the end of season two,” added Amell. “I will say that Greg has a pretty good track record for what he does, and I feel like we’re in good hands. Whatever Greg thinks will probably be the best version of the show.”
Upload season 3 Release Date?
As we have watched the 2nd season of upload, which aired on March 11, The fans are now waiting for the upcoming season, but there is no official announcement of the release date of season 3. Thus, without any clear-cut announcement, we cannot expect a release date. With hope in mind, we can anticipate that this series will probably release in September 2022 on Amazon prime screens.
