Troye Sivan is reaching back to one of pop’s most recognizable club records for his next move: his upcoming single will sample Madonna’s “Music,” a 2000 hit built around a relentlessly catchy electronic groove and the command to “come on, dance and sing.”
Pop Crave reported Monday that Sivan’s forthcoming release samples “Music” by Madonna. No title, release date or further production details have been announced in the post.
The sample arrives as Sivan begins a new album era. His fourth studio album, She’s the Best, is scheduled for release on October 9, 2026, following the title track’s August 14 debut. Universal Music Canada described the project as the next chapter after Something to Give Each Other, Sivan’s 2023 album, which has surpassed 2 billion streams.
The Madonna connection is especially on-brand for an artist whose recent work has leaned heavily into dance floors, nightlife and queer pop culture. “Rush,” the lead single from Something to Give Each Other, was a house-driven track that became Sivan’s first Grammy-nominated recording, earning recognition for Best Dance Pop Recording at the 66th annual ceremony.

Released in August 2000, the song became Madonna’s 12th No. 1 single on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and spent four weeks at the top. It also reached No. 1 in the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Germany and Australia, according to Madonna’s official archive. The accompanying Music album arrived the following month and debuted at No. 1 in several markets.
Sivan has sampled familiar pop language before. “Got Me Started,” another track from Something to Give Each Other, interpolated elements of Bag Raiders’ “Shooting Stars,” turning a widely recognized internet-era hook into part of his own club-pop framework.
Now he is borrowing from a Madonna single that helped define the turn-of-the-millennium dance-pop revival. The next reveal will be whether Sivan uses the source as a recognizable hook, a chopped-up texture or something harder to spot when the new single arrives ahead of She’s the Best on October 9.
