The Wild Sides: Audience Review
The series ain’t bad, but it’s not very good either. The narration copies passages from the Hunt, Dynasties, Market Manor, and Savage Kingdom by Charles Dance and Sir David. In marsh wetlands, the series begins during the greatest drought in generations. African predators and conflicts are highlighted during a time when few creatures survive and all are at their most desperate.
The narrator is decent and does more than just read. He is engaged and almost has Patrick Stuart’s voice from Star Trek TV. Unique passages from the superior series described above are copied in the script. There is no nighttime photography; no genuine blood or gore. However, I fail to understand why moviemakers keep making movies while wildlife is most needed.
