Will our favie, crazy ladies return for another trip? After the 2017’s girls trip, will Girls Trip 2 premiere? Good good news for the fandom – Girls trip 2 is officially happening! After almost 5 years, our sassy girls are back!!
The producer Will Packer reveals, “The ladies are in. And we are ready to rock ‘n’ roll!” On Good Morning America, the producer told the host Michael Strahan about releasing the sequel to the original film, starring Tiffany Hadish, Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifa, and Regina Hall.
“We are absolutely in the stages, the ladies are in, I just talked to the director,” he added. “We are underway with Girls Trip 2, and now it’s just about what kind of trip do we take, right? Post-pandemic with all our favourite crazy ladies, what do we do with them? That’s what we got to figure out.”
It ain’t a lot to go on but a post-pandemic Girls Trip sounds like a laugh galore in itself. So, get ready with your popcorn and drinks as this sequel is going to crack you up with laughter, no cap!
Girls Trip 2: What’s It Gonna Be About?
The original film, Girls Trip, aired in 2017 and instantly became a box office hit! The movie grossed over 140 million US dollars with only a budget of $19 million. Lmao, that’s something! The movie received a basketful of love and appreciation from the fandom and the critics.
The plot of the movie revolves around four besties who decide to go to New Orleans. They go to an Essence Music Festival to live life and have loads of fun. However, they end up getting lots and lots more than what they signed up for! Girls Trip 2 is gonna have a similar plot to the first movie. Our wholesome group will head out to some other destination and kill us all with their naked punchlines and epic drama!

When Is Girls Trip 2 Happening: Release Date?
Although it’s confirmed by the producer himself that Girls Trip 2 is happening, the release date is still under wraps. An official release date has not been updated, as of now, but it won’t be long before the flossy posse is back on track with their badass energy and enigma!
Where Do You Think The Girls Will Head For The Next Trip?
In March 2022, during a brainstorming zoom session with the girls, Tiffany Hadish revealed that they were discussing all the potential locations for Girls Trip 2. All of them shared ideas about where they could travel. “I’ve been throwing Rio [de Janeiro] from the beginning. Definitely down with South Africa too,” Latifah said, during the session.
Until further notice by the production team or the star cast, we can’t tell the next destination. We might not know where the group is headed for the next trip, but it’s for sure that we’ll receive the same funny bougie energy again!
