A new coming-of-age thriller set in the adrenaline and punk filled skate worlds of Los Angeles is reportedly under production and is set to star two of Hollywood’s quality icons Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson. Titled, ‘Lips Like Sugar’, the movie will focus on the 1984 L.A Olympics which marked America’s most successful year of competing. The upcoming feature film will focus on how the new found friendship between two teenage girls from different spheres of life become complicated when one of the girls goes missing. This occurrence during the Olympics ties the lives of two former detectives together.
In ‘Lips Like Sugar’, Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson will potentially play the role of the two former detectives, each with a past of their own. Having supposedly commenced its production this fall, the feature film will be shot in San Bernardino & Riverside County, California. Though there has been no additional information on the actors who will be joining the cast, the addition of Woody Harrelson and Owen Wilson ensures a power packed performance throughout the movie as the duo has impeccable synergy as their movie, ‘Lost in London’ does prove. Other popular works of Woody Harrelson include, ‘Now You See Me’ film series, ‘Hunger Games’ film trilogy, Zombieland’ film series and ‘The Highwaymen’. Russ Posternak, Kevin Chinoy and Francesca Silvestri to Join the Production Team
Being taken up under Post Film, creators, Russ Posternak, Kevin Chinoy, Francesca Silvestri, Jeremy Plager, Greg Lauritano, Kyle Schember, Zac Adams, Anna Schwartz, Tara Craig, Jaykant R. Patel, Rama K. Penta and Raj Penta will be forming the production team.
Brantley Gutierrez will most likely direct ‘Lips Like Sugar’ while Anthony Tambakis will be writing the screenplay for the upcoming feature film. Brantley Gutierrez is a popular director/ photographer. Anthony Tambakis is a renowned screenwriter whose works include, ‘Bad Boys for Life’, ‘Jane Got a Gun’ and ‘Warrior’ which was remade into the Hindi language Film, ‘Brothers’ starring Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra in lead roles.
Seeing as how the story is based on the 1984 Olympics, the popular events of the time can potentially make an appearance in the film. With an approved SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement to continue casting, more actors will be joining the cast soon enough and the feature film can be expected to premiere in the following year.
