The Mosquito Coast is an American TV series developed by Neil Cross and Tom Bissell adapted from the novel of the exact title penned by Paul Theroux launched in 1981. It moreover roughly modified from the 1986 movie which starred actor Harrison Ford. It was released on Apple TV+ on April 30, 2021.

The series features Justin Theroux who is also the nephew of Paul Theroux, and Melissa George in the lead roles, alongside Logan Polish and Gabriel Bateman equalizing the main characters. 

Justin Theroux also serves as a chief maker of the show, along with Rupert Wyatt who organized the preliminary two episodes. The series comprises seven episodes with a run time of 47-57 minutes. The first season aired from April 30, 2021, to June 4, 2021,

It’s also worth noting that the first season was well appreciated by the viewers and it also has an impressive rating of 62 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes and 72 per cent on Tomatometer. Is Mosquito Coast Season 2 Renewed? 

Yes, Apple TV+ has officially renewed the series for a second season on June 2, 2021. The announcement came just two days before the first season’s finale.

We’re sad to let you know that the official release date for Season 2 of Mosquito Coast is not confirmed. But it’s guaranteed that the series will indeed return with another season since the previous season ended on a major cliffhanger and the story is far from complete.

What would be the plot of The Mosquito Coast Season 2?

In the first season of The Mosquito Coast season, it was interpreted as a prequel by the Los Angeles Times, and it doesn’t really keep up or follow the story to the actual source material. Coming to the second season’s plot, series creator Neil Cross may prefer to wander further from the novel story, which highly piques the interest of the viewers without being able to guess or predict what fate awaits for the Fox clan.
