Stream Train Productions and BowFinger Bay Productions are entering a collaboration for an upcoming film noir titled as ‘The Contemptuous Ruby’. Stream Train Productions is a production company based in America and primarily works on film projects. Some of their works include, ‘The Nymph of Nocturne’, ‘She Wolf – A Femme Fatale of the American Dream’, ‘The Marionette’, The Rain in Spain’ and more. BowFinger Bay Productions is an emerging production company. ‘The Contemptuous Ruby’ is supposedly a psychological thriller and will commence its production in November with New Orleans serving as the film’s location.
‘The Contemptuous Ruby’ will be directed by Robbin Michael Wagner and will be a short film narrative feature as a noir. The film has reportedly been premiered at the New Orleans Film Festival and received a positive response. The screenplay for the film is composed by Robbin Michael Wagner and Brooke Laurel Denman. The film will most likely be set in 1970s in the Breakwater of Louisiana during the Vietnam War.
The Plot for ‘The Contemptuous Ruby’
‘The Contemptuous Ruby’ will feature a character named Ruby who supposedly “offers sexual tension and manipulates the lives of those around her”. Ruby is the wife of Walter, a man who is a war survivor and consequentially has an impaired body. Being in a mostly paralyzed state, bound to the wheelchair, Walter is in a mental turmoil being unable to accept his current situation with him having immobile hands and a mute life. The character is stuck in his past days of happiness and glory that he relives through an 8mm film that he watches over and over again. Ruby is described as being “young and beautiful” who engages in intercourse with complete strangers. The film will focus on both characters and the motives behind their actions through a series of close ups, usage of Comedy and Tragedy as a metaphor and a diabolical noir setting in the bayou coast of Breakwater. The impacts of war on the survivors of the same can also be a possible focus of the film seeing as how one of the primary characters is seemingly a veteran. The contrast between the characters and their actions will also be a prime focus of the film giving this story a sardonic and tragic element.
The cast and crew for the upcoming feature film is yet to be revealed, yet, with the production of the film commencing soon, ‘The Contemptuous Ruby’ potentially announce a premiere date soon.
