The 2018 thriller film, ‘A Simple Favor’ has a sequel that is reportedly under production and is predicted to have Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively and more returning to the cast. Titled as, ‘A Simple Favor 2’, the film takes place after the events of the first film and will have Anna Kendrick’s character Stephanie Smothers running a vlog with crafts and recipes while composing a book about Emily Nelson (Blake Lively), her former friend who went to prison for killing her twin sister. However, Emily soon shows up and reveals that she’s out on appeal. However, in reality, she’s helping the feds catch some dangerous criminals. Emily arrives with a strange request for Stephanie to be the maid of honor at her upcoming wedding in Capri on the Amalfi Coast. With Stephanie’s son away at camp, she decides to go to the place for a vacation. But things do not go as expected.
Joining Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively in the cast for the upcoming sequel is Bashir Salahuddin, a known artist. Bashir Salahuddin is known for his work in, ‘South Side’ which ran for 3 seasons, ‘Sherman’s Showcase’ a comedy that aired on IFC, ‘The 24th’ in which he played the role of ‘Big Joe’.
Reprisals and Other Additions to the Crew for ‘A Simple Favor 2’
Feigco Entertainment and Lionsgate the production companies for the 2018 film, will be taking up the development of this upcoming sequel alongside Amazon MGM Studios. Some of the popular works of Feigco Entertainment include, ‘Last Christmas’ which premiered in 2019, ‘The School for Good and Evil’ a novel adaptation starring Sophia Anne Caruso and Sofia Wylie, ‘Spy’ which premiered in 2015 and ‘Someone Great’a romantic comedy.
Paul Feig will be reprising his role as the director of the film series. Paul Feig is a known director and his works include, ‘Bridesmaids’ which premiered in 2011, ‘Heavyweights’ a family comedy, ‘I Am David’ a book adaptation and several of Feigco Entertainment’s productions. Jessica Sharzer will be composing the screenplay for ‘A Simple Favor 2’ like the first film. Jessica Sharzer is known both as a writer and director and her works include, ‘Turn the Beat Around’ starring Romina D’Ugo and David Giuntoli, ‘Nerve’ which premiered in 2016, and more. Also, Jessica Sharzer will be co- producing the upcoming film alongside Laura Fischer. Laura Fischer is a surfacing producer. Other additions to the crew include Mike Drake and more.
Currently the upcoming feature film is under development and is predicted to film in Italy.
