McGarry, known for portraying Nathan Grant on the series, revealed that meeting Wallace, who plays Fiona Miller, marked the beginning of a two-year pursuit. “It took me two years to convince her to go on a date with me,” he admitted with a chuckle, adding a surprising twist: the global COVID-19 pandemic played a pivotal role in bringing them closer. The couple, who also collaborated on two Hallmark movies, found their connection strengthened during the lockdown, though McGarry jokingly noted, “They’ll never make that movie! We pitched it.
”The actor highlighted the contrast between the long-form storytelling of the series, which takes four months to film 12 episodes, and the whirlwind three-to-four-week shoots of Hallmark movies. This slower pace allowed their on-screen chemistry to evolve into a real-life romance. The couple, who wed in a private ceremony in 2024 and recently announced their first child on the way, appeared together at the premiere of Wallace’s latest project just days after the cruise.
Fans are buzzing about McGarry’s candid revelations, which offer a glimpse into the personal side of Hallmark’s wholesome world. As the holiday season approaches, this heartwarming tale adds a new layer of charm to the network’s festive lineup.
