Eric Roberts, the actor from ‘The Specialist’, ‘Stalked by My Doctor’ and ‘Best of the Best’ and a recipient of several nominations, is supposedly in talks for a main role in an upcoming feature film titled, ‘Into the Fade’. Taken up by Powell and Price Productions and Baby Monster Media, ‘Into the Fade’ is described as a psychological thriller that will, follow a group of informants who are brought together by a mysterious box. When the group gets lured to an escape room by the box, they begin to realize that they were brought together intentionally. The rest of the film showcases how their reality hides its own secrets beyond those they can discern and how all is not how it seems. Eric Roberts is the brother of Julia Roberts, a popular Hollywood actress and the recipient of several accolades whose films include, ‘Notting Hill’ in which she starred alongside Hugh Grant, ‘Pretty Woman’ with actors Richard Gere and Héctor Elizondo, ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’ alongside Dermot Mulroney, ‘Wonder’ in which she played the role of Isabel a mother to a child with a rare facial abnormality, ‘Eat, Prey Love’ which is a book adaptation and more.
Powell and Price Productions and Baby Monster Media are emerging production companies who will be collaborating for ‘Into the Fade’. As of now, the upcoming feature film is reportedly still under active development with Justin Price and Franzi Schissler joining the crew as the film’s producers. Justin Price and Franzi Schissler are also surfacing producers who will potentially work alongside Eric Roberts in bringing ‘Into the Fade’ into the silver screens. As of now, the companies are yet to announce other cast and crew additions to the film, yet, it is predicted to commence its production soon.
What is in Store for ‘Into the Fade’?
Psychological thrillers are gaining momentum in the recent years with several production being released frequently. Some of the works belonging to this genre include, ‘You’ starring Penn Badgley, ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ with Harry Styles, Florence Pugh, Olivia Wilde, Chris Pine and Gemma Cheng among others in the cast and ‘The Prestige’ starring Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman among others.
The plot for ‘Into the Film’ does possess similarities with other works such as ‘Escape Room’ films, ‘The Platform’, ‘Maze Runner’ and more. It will be interesting to see how the upcoming film will add a novel element to the genre as a whole.
