Its been a while since any news on movies surrounding an animal/ human combo has been heard and Causeway Films is here to deliver just that. Titled, ‘The Fox’ and as the name indicates, this upcoming production will narrate the impacts of a deal forged between a talking fox and an heir which does not go as planned. This intriguing plot is certainly a treat for fans of dark comedy entertainers and guess who has reportedly backed the lead role for the film? It is none other than Jai Courtney who has graced Hollywood with several of his character portrayals in movies such as Terminator Genisys (2015), Jack Reacher (2012), The Exception (2016), Suicide Squad (2016) and ‘The Divergent’ movie series, with almost all of his movies being blockbuster hits. Though the complete cast list is yet to be announced, Jai Courtney will most likely take the center stage in the role of Nick, an heir to a reputed vineyard dynasty.
‘The Fox’ is set to be directed by Dario Russo, a well known director/writer who is primarily known for his comedic films. His works include ‘Italian Spiderman’ (2007) and ‘Top Knot Detective’ (2016). The Australian director is joined by Kristina Ceyton, Samantha Jennings, Dave Bishop, Luane Gauer and George Hamilton who will be forming the production team. Kristina Ceyton is an award winning producer who is known for ‘The Babadook’ (2014), ‘You Won’t Be Alone’ (2022), ‘Talk to Me’ (2022) and ‘The Moogai’ (2020) among other horror/ thrillers with Samantha Jennings serving as the co producer for some of her movies. Dave Bishop, Luane Gauer and George Hamilto are other successful film producers who will be collaborating with Kristina Ceyton and Samantha Jennings for this upcoming film.
What is the Plot?
‘The Fox’ will narrate an encounter between Nick and a talking fox who meet upon chance. When Nick, an affable heir to a vineyard dynasty discovers that his fiancé Kori is in fact cheating on him, a talking fox that Nick coincidentally captures offers him a trade-off to fix the problem: if Nick lets the fox live, the fox will aid him in his problem. The fox even offers Nick a peculiar task that can help him in saving his relationship. But following the fox’s advice, ends up doing more damage than good.
The film is supposedly still under active development but will most likely be produced in South Australia which might serve as the potential setting for the movie. With Jai Courtney in the lead role, this upcoming feature film is predicted to be an amusing watch throughout!
