George Santos, a Republican from New York, was married to a woman, and has led several Democrats to wonder whether or not he is gay.
On Thursday, Democratic representatives Ritchie Torres of New York and Ted Lieu of California posted a Daily Beast article claiming that Santos had not publicly mentioned his prior marriage to a woman, and him coming out as gay was nothing but a fallacy!
You’ve got to be kidding me.
Looks like far-right Republican George Santos, who fabricated his whole political identity, may have even lied about his sexuality.
I may be the only actual openly gay member of Congress in New York in the New Year. 😉

The major question, however, still stands: Is George Santos really gay, or is this some sort of deceitful lie that he’s pulling? We learned about the whole scenario and have explained in the article below; continue reading!
Who is George Santos?
Born on July 22, 1988, George Anthony Devolder Santos is an American politician, who has held the position of congressman for New York’s 3rd congressional district.
Santos, a Republican, unsuccessfully challenged incumbent Thomas Suozzi in 2020 before winning a seat in Congress in 2022. Santos is the first openly LGBT Republican member of Congress, which no doubt helped him acquire the seat.
The congressman has made various untrue or questionable assertions about his background, employment experience, criminal past, financial situation, ethnicity, religion, and other topics in both public and private settings.
Numerous news organizations reported six weeks after his election that a sizable portion of his self-published biography looked to be false, including assertions about his lineage, schooling, career, involvement in charitable causes, ownership of real estate, and crimes of which he claimed to be a victim.
However, Santos has acknowledged that he lied about his credentials and work. Now, when he came out as gay, it makes everybody wonder if this is again a lie or if he’s actually gay.
“I am openly gay,” says George Santos.
In October, Santos swore to support LGBTQ people, and according to USA Today at the time: “I am openly gay, have never had an issue with my sexual identity in the past decade, and I can tell you and assure you, I will always be an advocate for LGBTQ folks.”
Some Democrats doubted Santos’ sincerity when he ran for Congress in the midterm elections in November due to apparent discrepancies regarding his sexual orientation.
Questions are being raised about Congressman Santos’ sexuality: Is he even gay?
It is reasonable for the LGBTQ+ community, the media, and the 250,000 voters in his district to ask Congressman Santos the same question given his history of lying about everything, including arrest record, education, work, and personal fortune.
The New York Times reported on Monday that the New York Republican appeared to have been dishonest about several aspects of his life and may have deceived voters.
According to the Times, Santos, who had previously been detained in Brazil for cheque fraud, didn’t appear to be residing at the home where he was registered to vote and misled voters about his personal worth. He also seemed to have lied about his academic achievements and work experience.
The Times also discovered that Santos, a right-wing candidate who has pushed unfounded allegations of 2020 election fraud and attended former President Donald Trump’s Stop the Steal rally in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021, didn’t seem to have attended Baruch College or worked for Goldman Sachs or Citigroup.
Listen, at this point I'm hoping he lied about being gay because we don't want him. https://t.co/W5zDhyaura

His assertions about his Jewish origin and that he was descended from Holocaust survivors were contradicted, according to a Jewish Insider report that cited the records.
Santos didn’t refute any of the details The New York Times provided. Still, according to Insider, his lawyer Joseph Murray claimed that the “Left” feels terrified by the victory of a gay conservative Latino.
Murray continued, “It is no surprise that Congressman-elect Santos has adversaries at The New York Times who are attempting to tarnish his good name with these false accusations.”
