Well, the popular film on friends Romy and Michele has been in rumours to be coming up with a sequel. But is that really happening? The lead cast of the 1997 film Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino have themselves hinted if a sequel of their decades old film is arriving or not.
In an interview to Us Weekly, Sorvino talked about the chances of their 1997’s film getting a sequel that would bring both Lisa and Mira to work together. Is Romy and Michele’s 1997 film to get a sequel?
No doubt the character of Romy and Michele has been a dearly loved characters for not just its fans but also for the actresses who played those roles. But the good piece of news being that Romy and Michele are come back again and Mira has herself hinted at the same.
The SAG Awards had brought both Lisa and Mira together and that must have inspired the makers to think about their 1997 film’s sequel. Sorvino had said about it as “That went viral and then all of a sudden the thing we’ve been asking for years, which was let’s get a sequel going, all of a sudden it became a viable option.”
Sorvino told Us Weekly about the sequel movie being in works. In fact, both Lisa and Mira are expected as an executive producer too for the upcoming film. While Robin Schiff will be back as the screenwriter for the expected film. Despite their movie being untitled for now. Fans are having high hopes with the arriving film.
It is yet to be known as who else would be coming as the cast of the sequel movie. As apart from Lisa and Mira, no other star has been listed till now. Also, with work of the awaited movie still under works it is yet to be known as when this movie is likely to hit the big screen and if there could be a trailer for it anytime soon or not.
