Conceived by Stephany Folsom, Paper Girls is an American sci-fi drama series based on a storybook of the same name authored by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Cliff Chiang. The first season, with eight episodes, was released in July 2022.
Upon release, the series received mainly positive responses from the audience and critics alike. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a 91 percent approval rating with a decent score of 7 out of 10 based on 64 critic reviews. On Metacritic, it has a score of 70/100 based on 20 critic reviews, implying “generally favorable reviews”.
Despite the series’ massive popularity, Prime Video has axed the comic series adaptation after just one season.
Paper Girls Season 2 Release Date
As stated earlier, the series has been canceled by Prime Video in September 2022 after airing for just one season. The first season consisting of eight episodes was released on July 29, 2022.
Hence, there is no release date for the second season of Paper Girls because a new season won’t be produced.

What is the Plot of Paper Girls?
The debut season of Paper Girls is illustrated as “a high-stakes personal journey depicted through the eyes of four girls,” as per the official synopsis. Tiffany Quilkin, Erin Tieng, Mac Coyle, and KJ Brandman “are out on their delivery route when they become caught in the crossfire between warring time-travelers, changing the course of their lives forever. Transported into the future, these girls must figure out a way to get back home to the past — a journey that will bring them face-to-face with the grown-up versions of themselves.
“While reconciling that their futures are far different than their 12-year-old selves imagined, they are being hunted by a militant faction of time-travelers known as the Old Watch, who have outlawed time travel so that they can stay in power,” the synopsis resumes. “In order to survive, the girls will need to overcome their differences and learn to trust each other, and themselves.”
