Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the popular film making duo of ‘A Quiet Place’ is back with another intense horror script, titled ‘Heretic’ that is supposedly set to cast none other than one of the popular stars of Hollywood, Hugh Grant. ‘Heretic’ will center on two Mormon missionaries who visit a man’s house with the intention of converting him but unbeknownst to them, the man has set traps awaiting their arrival. Joining Hugh Grant in the cast is Chloe East, a popular actress/ dancer known for her roles in ‘Jessica Darling’s It Lit’ and ‘The Fabelmans’.
Hugh Grant is best known for his characters in romcoms such as ‘Notting Hill’, ‘Love Actually’, ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ and so on which practically thrived across two decades. He is also the recipient of several accolades such as the ‘Golden Globe Award for Best Actor’ and a BAFTA Award. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods will be serving as the writers and directors for this upcoming feature film while Stacey Sher, Julia Glausi and Jeanette Volturno forming the production team.
Status, Location and More
With ‘Heretic’ commencing it’s shooting on October, there is a lot of talk surrounding the cast and the further details of the plot of the movie. Though there has been no official updates just yet, Beck &Woods’ combination ensures that the upcoming film will be an engrossing one indeed. The movie will potentially be shot in Vancouver.
If Hugh Grant does take the lead role in the film, ‘Heretic’ will offer a fresh look at the actor’s performance, as he is primarily known for his comedic and romantic characters. With his much anticipated portrayal of the legendary ‘Oompa Loompa’ in ‘Wonka’ (from Roald Dahl’s classic novel ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’), rumors surrounding his other upcoming releases are already surfacing. For fans of the much adored actor, his possible new role in ‘Heretic’ might just add to the actor’s versatility.
Chloe East’s portrayal of Monica in ‘The Fabelmans’ and Jenna Marshall in ‘The Wolf of Snow Hollow’ was memorable. If Chloe East will possibly play a character in ‘Heretic’, viewers can expect to see the young talent in a surprisingly different genre altogether.
Potentially set to join the crew for ‘Heretic’ are Crystal Remmey, Anah Teele, Richard Cowan and Chung Hoon Chung who could be portraying primary characters. The film can be expected to be released in the upcoming year as its production is actively developing.
If you are a horror fan but are tired of ‘the same ghost haunting people for no particular reason’ storyline, and is in need of a novel plot line, then this upcoming feature film is for you. Be prepared for some accurately timed jump scares and unforeseen plot twists along the way!
