Henry Golding and Uma Thurman have officially joined the cast in the much-anticipated movie “The Old Guard” sequel.
Details on what the two actors will portray in the story are still kept under wraps, but both the actors have enough action experience.
Golding’s fame peaked with his outstanding performances in 2018 John M. Chu’s “Crazy Rich Asians,” “A Simple Favor” (2018), and “Last Christmas” (2018). The actor signed on to the domain of high-octane flicks with “Snake Eyes” (2021) and “The Gentlemen” (2019). Golding was most recently seen in “Persuasion” which was released in July 2022 alongside actress Dakota Johnson.

Uma Thurman is a well-known American actress and most significantly gained recognition for portraying the role of a Bride in the “Kill Bill” movie series. The actress also received an Academy nomination in the category of Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in “Pulp Fiction.” Her most recent work “ Hollywood Stargirl” was released in May 2022. She is repped by Jonathan Sanders & Co, ICM Partners, Untitled Entertainment, Wolf Kasteler Public Relations, and Hansen Jacobson Teller.
The first movie “The Old Guard,” launched in July 2020, became one of Netflix’s most favored action films to date. Reportedly, it accumulated 186 million viewers in its first twenty-eight days of discharge.
Netflix official synopsis reads: “Led by a warrior named Andy (Charlize Theron), a covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die have fought to protect the mortal world for centuries. But when the team is recruited to take on an emergency mission and their extraordinary abilities are suddenly exposed, it’s up to Andy and Nile (KiKi Layne), the newest soldier to join their ranks, to help the group eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate and monetize their power by any means necessary.”
It’s been reported that filming for the sequel is underway. “The Old Guard,” film’s star, Charlize Theron revealed two B-T-S pictures displaying a few of the actors from the first film who’ll be reprising their roles.
The pictures was shared by Theron on Instagram that captioned, “Let’s go to work. #TheOldGuard2 @OldGuardMovie @NetflixFilm.” Check the post below:
The sequel will be helmed by Victoria Mahoney based on the comic book of the exact name by Greg Rucka. Actors returning in the upcoming movie are Theron alongside co-stars from the first movie including Chiwetel Ejiofor, KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzari, and Luca Marinelli. Joining the previous actors are Henry Golding and Uma Thurman. Mahoney replaced Gina Prince-Bythewood as director for the sequel but she’ll be serving as a producer.
