Acorn TV is bringing back Jane Seymour’s Harry Wild for a second season – and AMC’s short-form series Cooper’s Bar is also getting a sophomore run! The Anglo-centric streamer said that Harry Wild delivered its most successful premiere week in its history when it launched in April. It will return in 2023 with another eight episodes.
Cooper’s Bar is a series that follows Kris Latimer (Better Call Saul’s Rhea Seehorn), the biggest dick in Hollywood, who stumbles upon Cooper Marino’s (Louis Mustillo) backyard tiki bar oasis. Cooper and his pals pull themselves together for one last shot at their big break.
After the premiere of Cooper’s Bar Season 1, the reception and reviews received from the audience and critics made it easy for the network to continue the series for another season who loved the plot and character arcs in the series. The short-form series premiered this spring and generated nearly 4 million views across platforms.
The cast also includes Stuart Graham and Amy Huberman. It is produced by Dynamic Television, created and written by David Logan and exec produced by Seymour, Daniel March, Klaus Zimmermann, James Gibb, Morgan O’Sullivan and James Flynn. Acorn Media Enterprises co-produces.
Seymour stars as Harriet “Harry” Wild, a retiring university literature professor who is finding herself at one of life’s crossroads. In season one, jolted from a mugging, Harry reluctantly agrees to recover in the home of her son, Charlie, played by Kevin Ryan, a senior police detective.
Charlie’s family does their best to tolerate Harry’s inscrutable ways, but Harry speaks her mind. Despite Charlie’s strong objections and warnings, Harry starts to interfere in her son’s particularly baffling murder case when she notices the murderer has followed a pattern from an obscure Elizabethan play.
Cooper’s Bar Season 2 Release Date and Episodes
Yes, it is official! AMC+ has finally renewed the series for a second season this year. The exact release date for the upcoming season is yet to be revealed by the network as the renewal announcement was made recently, which makes it way too early for any network to disclose such information. On the bright side, it is expected that the upcoming season will follow the footsteps of the predecessor season and have at least 6 episodes to continue the storyline in a consistent manner.
The official Instagram handle of AMC Networks also confirmed the renewal by sharing a post with their followers, quoting, “You want more Cooper Marino, you’ve got more Cooper Marino. Season 2 of #CoopersBar, starring Emmy-nominee @rheaseehorn, is coming soon. #TCA22″ Take a look at the post below:
