But since Vacation Friends 2 debuted just two years after the first, we can’t completely rule out the chance that Vacation Friends 3 will happen. It remains to be seen if writer-director Clay Tarver and the other creatives behind parts 1 and 2 have new ideas to further the plot. A few months after “Vacation Friends” ended, this outrageous follow-up finds newlyweds Marcus (Howery) and Emily (Orji) inviting their gregarious best friends Ron (Cena) and Kyla (Hagner), who also recently wed with a child, to go on vacation with them after Marcus scores an all-expenses-paid trip to a spa in the Caribbean.
He initially traveled there to meet with the resort’s owners to submit a bid for a development contract for a Chicago hotel they own. But when Reese (Buscemi), Kyla’s jailed father, unexpectedly shows up at the resort at the worst possible time after his release from San Quentin, things spiral out of hand, upending Marcus’ well-laid plans and throwing the vacation buddies’ idyllic trip into complete disarray.
