Big Brother Canada is a reality TV game show which is a part of the global Big Brother franchise. The show’s first season was launched on February 27, 2013, and was initially broadcast on Slice. With the release of its second season, the reality show shifted to Global. Produced by Endemol and Insight Productions, the show is presented by Arisa Cox.
The show revolves around a group of participants or “HouseGuests”, residing in a custom made house under a regular camera oversight. The HouseGuests don’t have any contact with the external world while being occupied in the house. They are without internet and mobile devices. Every week the HouseGuest must complete a task for authority and safety and failing to complete a task might put them in danger as the participants can vote each other out of the show. The winner gets a cash prize of CA$100,00, and other bonuses from the show’s sponsors.

Big Brother Canada is the first embodiment of a series to embrace the premise used in the US, which largely disagrees with the other shows. The regulations of the series have also been changed with every new season which added more twists to the game.

Is Big Brother renewed for season 10?
Yes! The show is officially renewed for an eight-season run and fans couldn’t be more delighted to learn this great news.
“Following an incredibly successful season with our most diverse cast, the highest number of brand integrations, and the most innovative show twists to date – all while shooting during a pandemic – we are proud to greenlight another new season of ‘Big Brother Canada’,” announced Lisa Godfrey, Senior Vice President of Original Content and Corus Studios.
“Together with our talented partners at Insight Productions, we look forward to delivering Canadians another wild season of one of the most-talked-about Original series in Canada,” she stated.
Big Brother Canada season 10 release date: When will it premiere?
The reality show went on hiatus after wrapping up with its fifth season, but with the support of fans, the show was greenlit for a sixth season. Host Arisa Cox announced on May 30, 2019, that the series was renewed for an eight season and is scheduled to launch in 2020. Season 8 of Big Brother Canada premiered on March 4, 2020, but had to wrap things up without a victor due to the pandemic. Nearly four months after the cancellation news, on July 13, 2020, the show was renewed for the ninth season with host Arisa Cox serving as an executive producer for the show. Season 9 was launched on March 3, 2021, and as of now, the show has been renewed for a tenth season.
Since its debut, Big Brother Canada has released 203 episodes and has nine seasons in total featuring over 70 HouseGuests so far.

The Cast of Big Brother Canada season 10
Season 9 had 14 participants or referred to as HouseGuests all sharing the same house. After spending 69 days in the house, Tychon Carter-Newman emerged as the victor beating all the other HouseGuest. The runner up was bagged by Tamar Braxton.
However, when it comes to the tenth season, details are scarce and the contestants are yet to be revealed or perhaps the casting directors are auditioning for the next season but we expect that the same number of participants will compete in the show and battle it out to come out as the ultimate winner of Big Brother Canada.
We also expect to see host Arisa Cox return for the tenth season as well. But as we’ve previously mentioned, nothing is confirmed and no details have been provided from the showrunners. Till then wait for further announcements.
