America’s Got Talent Season 19 Format: What can we expect?
Every year, “America’s Got Talent” kicks off with national auditions. These begin with “Producers’ Auditions” in several American cities, which are free for all acts and are assessed impartially. The winners move on to “Judges’ Auditions,” which take place in a few cities.
There, judges provide feedback to acts and have the authority to end performances that don’t meet expectations. A live audience is given 90 seconds for each act. A majority of the judges’ votes and comments are required for advancement; a vote against results in elimination. A presenter interview is part of the auditions that take place concurrently with filming.
The fifth through seventh seasons of the show featured online auditions where candidates could upload taped auditions to YouTube. The “Golden Buzzer,” which enables judges or the host to send an act straight to live shows, was added in the ninth season.
Following the auditions, there are several different formats: “Vegas Verdicts,” “Judge Cuts,” “Las Vegas Callbacks,” or the most recent version, which is similar to Britain’s Got Talent and ends with live rounds and the finals.
