Berlanti Productions’ upcoming series is predicted to be a drama revolving around a celebrity assistant who suddenly becomes famous, but with its own consequences. Titled as ‘Anon Pls’ the new series is currently under development and is predicted to air on Max. Berlanti Productions is a popular production company whose works include, ‘Red, White and Royal Blue’ a book adaptation which premiered in 2023, ‘Free Guy’ starring Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Joe Keery and more, ‘Moonshot’ a sci- fi romance, ‘Unpregnant’ which was directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg and ‘Pan’ which premiered in 2015, to name a few. Berlanti Productions will possibly be joined by Warner Bros. Television for the development of the upcoming series.
Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Leigh London Redman will potentially be the producers for ‘Anon Pls’ alongside Diablo Cody and Ryan O’Connell. Greg Berlanti is a known producer. Sarah Schechter is a partner at Berlanti Productions and is another known producer. Leigh London Redman is a surfacing producer whose works include, ‘Gotham Knights’ which premiered in 2023 among others. Plot of ‘Anon Pls’
The upcoming drama is centered on Cricket Lopez, assistant to a popular celebrity stylist, who turns her old style Instagram account into a celebrity gossip blog on a drunken whim. Not expecting it to take an unusual turn, she believes that the blog is harmless, a way to blow off steam after a terrible day at work where her notorious boss screams at her and blames her for a mishap. But unbeknownst to her, the account grows overnight and soon, Cricket Lopez starts getting gossip from fans. Her Instagram is now famous and consequentially, so is she. Though her identity remains hidden and no one knows that she is behind the account, its newfound success starts to affect her life. She begins to miss out on her job, her friends are increasingly irritated by her dedication to the account, and she has celebrities, investors, and journalists approaching her with interest. Also, she meets someone new through her online persona, except his motives seem doubtful. But Cricket will have to make a decision soon enough on what to prioritize before its too late.
